All I ask is for someone to tell me if they think we are no longer in the Quaternary (A geologic time period from roughly 2.58M years until now!). The Quaternary is characterized by cyclic transcontinental periods of glaciation. So unless the last glaciation (Commonly called Ice Age - actually one many many!) was indeed the very last, which means we’re in another geologic time period. Ok what’s the geologic evidence? Not computer simulated evidence! Geologic physical evidence!

Remember the last major glaciation ended roughly 22,000 years ago and we have been coming out if it, (You know getting warmer!) It must have been caused by all that Neanderthal heavy industry & SUVs.

Well, probably because of warming pangea broke into smaller chunks of land?

I like that angle on the Quaternary, thanks for describing it so well.

I’ve banked my views on two things:

Based on sun observation data, we are clearly going into some 75-150 year Maunder-like or Dalton-like minimum. They call it the Modern Minimum... I think of it as the ManBearPig Minimum. Either way works.

And two, Malinkovitch cycles. This perhaps ties in well with the Quaternary period still continuing strong. We know that the earth has 100,000 year cycles where its orbit eccentricity decreases to nearly a circle to a very elongated ellipse. There is also at least two others, with 41,000 and 22,000 year cycles. These are what are driving climite warming and cooling.
