At least 77,000 people have signed up for President Trumps Houston rally on Monday to support incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who is locked in the Texas Senate battle with Democratic Congressman Beto ORourke.
The Houston Chronicle reported that Houston police will be fully mobilized for the rally. Attendees must have tickets to enter and will be admitted in the order that they line up, the report said.
"Keep in mind that once the capacity is met, you won't get in whether you have a ticket or not," an officer said.
More than 77,800 people had signed up for the rally by Friday morning, according to The Chronicle. A person familiar with the event told the paper that the Trump campaign was not considering a move to a larger venue.

PING
77k !!!!!
Can’t they get an even bigger venue? NRG Stadium holds that many people, but it’s short notice.
Should’a had it at Jerry’s place. It holds 100,000.
I have two tickets that I am unable to use because of a family emergency. PM me if you can use them. I have been visiting friends in Comanche County when I heard about the rally and thought it would be a MUST DO to attend one. Houston would be a short drive away. But, alas, I will have to witness a rally another time...
Probably optics. 17k inside, 50k outside hoping to get in.
Better than a 100k stadium having 30k empty seats.
Awesome!!!!!!1
And he’s still only at a 50% Favorability....sure he is.
When he gets another SCOTUS pick and takes on immigration, full force, and gets rid of Birthright Citizenship, DACA, and starts taking away benenfits, the number of Dem’s in political office will gradually dwindle to such an insignificant number that they won’t be a factor in anything. Of course, that’ll also drive them even more insane, which isn’t a bad thing as it’ll drive more and more people away from them.
These people are there to see Trump. 77,000!. By comparison, if you look at the senate candidate, almost all of his recent events are at restaurants and similar small venues. Trump is a presence to be reckoned with. Fantastic! This is why he is president..
They never check tickets.
If Dems weren't morons he wouldn't get 10%. People keep talking about Houston, Dallas and Austin being liberal stongholds, but most of them hunt and have guns and don't want illegals taking their jobs. Even Hispanic American know when a pick up truck unloads 15 illegals they are either going to take a pay cut or lose their jobs. Most Texas counties are 80% Republican except for said cities and they are 50-50.( except Austin)
Yeah, I was thinking that too. However, what you could do with a stadium that big is just fill the lower bowls and not light up the top ones so it’s dark. But if not enough people show up to even fill the lower bowls, there will obviously be the optics issue, and the left would love that.
I recall the time during the campaign when Trump had a rally in Virginia in June 2016 (just checked the date on it), but it didn’t come close to filling up. It was an anomaly as generally Trump’s rallies do very well. It was a massive venue and was probably only about a quarter full which provided terrible optics. I put it down in part to the way it was announced, the time of year, and the limits on tickets people could get. Anyway, the optics were bad, and the reporters who covered him clearly were delighted by it. However, if they had taken the same amount of people that were there and put them in a much smaller venue (like a large conference space), it would have been full and the optics would have looked better. Trump’s rallies obviously did well after that, so it was just a miss for perhaps the reasons I just stated.
Unfortunately, what they have is just the interest in the rally regarding tickets, and there is no way to know if these people would all show up. If they would all show up, great, but if not... Ideally, it would be better to have extra seats than people outside, but if there are a lot of empty seats, the media will celebrate that - not even taking into consideration the size of the venue, so I do see why they aren’t going that big.
I like it....especially the part about dwindling Dems going berserk.
This is great but those 77 thousand people need.to each get two people who would not have voted to decide to vote the demo_rats out of office.

Trump moves rally to a bigger venue
Literally it's "¡No te parece una increible mierda!" More colloquially it's simply "Qué mierda!"
Posted as a public service, to help Beto out..
I’m surprised it’s only 77K. Last week or the week before I think about 1K had requested tickets for an 8K venue. In Texas I’d expect at least that many requests.
Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros who wont need it now, is in the same neighborhood as Toyota Center. It may be too late to vet it for security purposes.
Having gone to the Mesa rally last night, here’s a little tip for you planning on attending the Houston rally Monday night.
GET THERE EARLY, or you won’t get in the building.
After I finally parked, I got in an already mile long line at 2:30 for a 6:30 start time. By the time I got through security, it was 5:30 and I could only get within 200 feet of the hangar,(which they said held 15,000), and would have had to watch the event on a big screen with no chance of actually seeing the President.
Some guy read online that there were 60,000 there counting the mile long line behind me. The organizers provided only 6 Honey Buckets for the whole crowd as far as I could tell. I envisioned a nightmare traffic scenario once the event was over, so I left right then and there. I missed the speech but had a nice leisurely drive home. My disappointment was offset with the knowledge that so many freedom loving Americans made an effort to see President Trump.
Once again, if anyone is attending these events and wants to get into one of these 15 or 20 thousand seat venues, get there from 6 to 10 hours early.
