Eh, I’ve seen it before. Louisiana’s jungle primary, there were 2 Dems (Landrieu and Ieyoub), and 3 Republicans (Woody Jenkins, Peggy Wilson, and I forget who the third one was). Peggy and the other R got out so that Woody could make the runoff.

Jenkins did make the runoff, didn’t quite beat Landrieu.

So it could be that Walker wants Begich rather than Dunleavy, or there could be more to it than that.

Thanks as I do not understand the dynamics of Alaskan politics. It just seems...different.

That's because the Democrats had a lock on the dead vote and multiple voters in Orleans Parish.
