Sen. Claire McCaskill’s (D-MO) staff already admitted she is open to a semiautomatic rifle ban, and on Thursday night, McCaskill made clear that she, too, is coming after gun shows. She also called for other gun controls and maligned the NRA for standing against infringement of Second Amendment rights.

Kinda what I was thinking too. Very similar to when Heitkamp voted against Kavanaugh’s nomination. She must have looked at the polls and thought “Hell, I’m DWW (Dead Woman Walking) politically. Might as well go out on fire”.

I wonder if McCaskill has seen the same thing? On the other hand, she does have a few geographical advantages that Heitkamp didn’t - Kansas City, St Louis, Columbia and Jefferson City. Those areas alone could keep her in a race.

Didn't even know about it. I don't watch TV, and there's nothing on the radio but two NPR stations and a bunch of '70s rock and new country that appeals mostly to drunks and dopers. Too much interference to get anything good on AM radio, and too many vehicles these days lack condensers for avoiding electronic noise from engines.
