I will be happy to hold the Senate, and think 53-47 is the most likely outcome, but IT SHOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER. The fact that we won’t get to 57 or 58 is a sad sign about the state of the nation, as is the fact that we could lose the House.

So many people here are Republicans, have Republican friends, have dressed up in elephant costumes (just kidding), know the name of their committeeman, etc, that they only see half the truth.

That half is: Normal Americans hate the Democrats.

The other half, the half the don’t see, is that the only thing normal Americans hate worse than Democrats is Republicans.

If the wall were up, if the illegals were mostly rounded up and in camps, if we were out of Afganistan,if the latest “convoy” were met by the 82nd Airborne and two Armored divisions deployed on a line Veracruz-Acapulco, if Christine Blasey Ford were in pretrial detention, if Affirmative action were banned by Executive Order, If the Treasury were reflating the economy with US Notes, if recognition of men pretending to be women as if they were actually women were banned - then the GOP would be looking at 450 seats in the House and 65 in the Senate.

But that’s not the case.

I’m trying to figure out the math because a 53 47 senate percentage should be reflected in the make up of the house and should we lose the house we should lose the senate...granted not all of the senate was up for re-election this years so perhaps that’s what makes the numbers look different.
