‘Windswept House’ and that Vatican document

I just remembered why that Vatican document calling for global government for the greater good of all hit such a nerve: it reminded me of “Windswept House,” the Malachi Martin novel from the mid-1990s. Any of my readers ever read that book? It was very popular with conservative Catholics when it came out. I started it, but didn’t get very far. I do recall that it was widely discussed at the time in conservative and traditionalist Catholic circles.

The late Malachi Martin (d. 1999) was a fascinating figure. He was a former Jesuit priest, Vatican insider, and, by the end of his life, a somewhat radical Traditionalist who spent time talking with the talk show host Art Bell, speculating about the End of Days. I honestly have no idea how much of his stuff he flat-out invented, how much he embellished, and how much was true. I quit trying to figure that out some time ago, and hadn’t thought about him in years, until just now. About the most neutral thing you could say of him was that he was unreliable. I used to put a lot of stock in his book about exorcism, but now I think it’s simply impossible to know which of his writings were fact, and which were fiction.

“Windswept House” was a roman a clef about the Vatican, in which Martin explored his theories that the Vatican was in the process of being taken over by sinister forces determined to seize control of the Church’s apparatus and put it in the service of what Martin called (after George Bush Sr) the “New World Order” — a globalist government that would ultimately produce the Antichrist. As I recall, Martin believed that some sort of occult ritual had occurred in the Vatican in the 1960s, and that the turmoil in the Church today was a result of that. He believed that a great Apostasy was upon us, and that corrupt and worldly cardinals in the Vatican were moving to subdue the Church and put it at the service of a one-world government that would persecute the real church. I remember at the time thinking how much this vision of Martin’s could be taken out of the pages of fundamentalist Protestant literature — but it was being put out there by a hardcore conservative/traditionalist Catholic.

Any “Windswept House” readers out there? I imagine that with today’s document from the Vatican, which could have been ripped from the pages of “Windswept House,” you might be thinking that Malachi Martin was some sort of prophet. Let us hear from you in the comboxes if you were a “Windswept House” reader or a Malachi Martin fan back in the day, and what you think of that book and the late Fr. Martin nowadays.

WHO'S WHO IN "WINDSWEPT HOUSE"
A KEY TO THE CHARACTERS IN FR. MALACHI MARTIN'S "WINDSWEPT HOUSE"

Fr. Malachi Martin, the noted Vaticanologist and confidant of pre-Vatican II popes, wrote his 1998 novel, "Windswept House: A Vatican Novel," about corruption in Newvatican under the Unsaint JPII-Wojtyla. It became an immediate bestseller. His portrayal of Newvatican figures was unflinching:

"These are men with nothing in common but immense power and a towering ambition for still more. With world unity and prosperity as their slogan -- and with betrayal, scandal, and murder as their ready weapons -- they have the means and the will to capture as their own the perfect global machinery for their plans: the oldest, wiliest, and most stable political chancery in the world -- the Vatican."

Fr. Martin had been a Jesuit, but was so scandalized by that order's adoption of violent Communist "Liberation Theology" that he got permission from Paul VI-Montini to leave the order at the inception of the Newchurch of the New Order in 1964. He then became a traditional Catholic priest and a best-selling author exposing the corruption of the Newvatican. He wrote all of his books as novels, as romans à clef, publicly stating that if had written them as nonfiction, Newvatican would have murdered him. Even so, he died under mysterious circumstances. Thus, he gave all of his characters pseudonyms.

The TRADITIO Network herewith publishes a key proposed by one source, with further additions by TRADITIO readers, relating the fictional names used in Fr. Malachi Martin's "Windswept House" to the purported real persons involved. The TRADITIO Network takes no position on the accuracy of the proposed key.

Martin's work, Windswept House, was (using his words) "Faction." It was fact - only the characters were "fiction", but were based on actual individuals. The same for some of the scenes and scenarios - but it was all true. Twenty years before today's headlines, Martin wrote a novel about a secret international association of political, religious, and financial leaders involved in an international effort to form a globalist New World Order through the establishment of a single global government and economy. At the crux of the globalists plan was to take over the Roman Catholic Church by forcing the Pope's resignation and seizing power through a network of liberal (and evil) co-opted cardinals. Martin also (correctly) stated that there were actual Satanists in the Vatican, and I believe this is completely true. Even Pope John XXIII said it was true, and that was many years ago.

Further, Martin was a true exorcist and fought countless battles with demons and Satan. I don't get where this critic suddenly deems him "unreliable." His book Hostage to the Devil was one of the scariest books I ever read. It is based on actual demonic possession cases. In at least one of the cases, the exorcist was probably Martin himself, although he took the "Faction" approach here as well.

The critic here also seems to take Martin to task because he believed in the Biblical end of days. Well, since those days are chronicled in the Holy Bible, and written about by Paul, John, Daniel, Ezekiel, and other servants of God - I don't see what his complaint is, other than the fact that he sees any discussion of the Last Days as a protestant/evangelical topic that the Vatican does not approve of, and therefore it cannot be contemplated.

Lastly, there was a movie "Hostage to the Devil" (the same name as his novel, but a different plot and storyline) that came out a few years ago. It features some recreation along with interviews of Martin's friends and associates. Martin's final exorcism attempt was of a young girl in Connecticut, and Martin died from complications of a fall during this time. His contemporaries (and I as well) believe that Martin was murdered, and that demonic forces were involved.

Two thumbs up to your comment Revel.

Beyond Martin's clearly heroic efforts to fight evil, expose evil, and help others in the horrible clutches of evil, Martin was also a true genius. He was a scholar and polyglot who fluently spoke 17 languages.

[a globalist government .... that brings the Antichrist]

And a religious leader who will be the False Prophet:

Revelation 13:11-18 King James Version (KJV)

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Revelation 19:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the False Prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the Mark of the Beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the False Prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 16:13 King James Version (KJV)

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the False Prophet.

Regarding Rev. 13:11, several of the messages in True Life In God mention the second beast. For example, footnote #6 of Daniel The Prophet refers to:
“The apostates are those, according to Our Lord, ecclesiastics influenced by the freemasons. These apostates are noted in Rv. 13:11. They are as the second beast, alias the false prophet.“
And also in this message in footnote #4:
Traders: can represent the second beast of the Rv. 13, meaning ecclesiastical freemasonry. Traders: the rationalistic spirit, apostatised and dry. Traders: biblical term for a person who traded the Truth for a Lie. It also means: the spirit of rebellion, the false teachers and false prophets of today that Jesus warned us of in the last days to come. - St Paul said: "Therefore we teach, not in the way in which philosophy is taught, but in the way that the Spirit teaches us: we teach spiritual things spiritually." (1 Co. 2:13).
You, like me, might be asking, this:

“WHAT IS MEANT BY "ECCLESIASTICAL MASONRY"?”

Per the link, they answer:

Many people interpret it as members of the clergy associated with traditionally established Masonic Lodges. That is not correct.

Ecclesiastical Masonry, as we define it, is any sect or cult like group within the Church which works behind the scenes and under the cover of darkness.

It may be of the extreme right OR extreme left. Either group is not of God since they share a common governing method that is against the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ: To impose their views on the faithful through manipulation - even if coercion and/or force is needed.

I just found that link tonight and am passing it along for whatever it’s worth.
