Two Christian filmmakers appeared before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Paul Tuesday to challenge Minnesota state law which they say illegally forces them to produce and create films expressing messages that contradict their core beliefs.
Telescope Media Group owners Carl and Angel Larsen have already been threatened with hefty fines and up to 90 days in jail if they choose to disregard the law.
The Larsens want to enter the wedding industry. However, the state's Human Rights Act stipulates if the couple creates films celebrating their Christian beliefs about marriage that marriage is between one man and one woman, they must also create films about marriage that violate their beliefs, including films promoting same-sex marriages.
In 2017, the Larsens tried to challenge the law as unconstitutional but a lower court dismissed their case and mandated that they service same-sex weddings or close this part of their business. They are now appealing to the 8th Circuit Court.

Instead of completely obscuring, it could be altered to “The Spit Of America”
26] Then went the officer with the ministers, and brought them without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned. [27] And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, [28] Saying: Commanding we commanded you, that you should not teach in this name; and behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and you have a mind to bring the blood of this man upon us. [29] But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men. [30] The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus, whom you put to death, hanging him upon a tree.
Acts 5:29
Jim, until we attack and dismantle each state’s Human Rights Tribunals, which are rogue agencies that are populated by leftists who wish to dismantle all traditions in America, this sort of constant leftist attack will continue.
No one pays attention to them, and they are central to the leftist agenda.
Every state has a misnamed Human Rights Tribunal and all states are unsafe for Christians and other traditionalists.
If only. Their decision in the Masterpiece Cake case relied primarily on an obvious bias on the part of the state panel enforcing the anti-discrimination laws. The underlying question on whether businesses can refuse to provide services to same-sex couples was not definitively answered. If these people take their case all the way to the Supreme Court then maybe it finally will be.
Tell the State to stuff it.
No. Republicans are not a protected class under anti-discrimination laws.
A professional costumer could be compelled to design fetish gear.
Weirdos are not a protected class either.
A Jewish bakery could be compelled to make Hitler birthday cakes.
Nope. Nazis aren't a protected class.
A makeup artist could be compelled to do feminine makeup on a man.
You might have him there. It would depend on the circumstances.
Q has a ranch for pheasant hunting? .... awesome, dude....
I’d don’t think it’s fair that Jeff has retired there while he still collects his salary.
Move to Texas.
“Only if you are a business makes videos”
Thanks for the clarification. It parallels the wedding cake thing, huh?
I’d like for it to go to the Supreme Court, and have the whole Human Rights Act struck down.
bs
I’m opposed to the entire concept of “public accommodation”.
8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
I better be more clear ...

Wrong answer!
IIRC SCOTUS ruled that the words "Live Free Or Die" were not essential in helping police identify a car or a driver. On my plates, for example, the state's name is on top, then just below are the characters unique to *my* car which allow the police to identify it and below that,at the bottom, are the words "The Spirit Of America".
Given that I believe my state to be "The Spirit Of Venezuela" I take *strong* exception to the words at the bottom. So now both my plates clearly show the state's name and the characters below...but not that filthy, offensive claim at the bottom.
I can easily understand why these guys would be outraged at being forced to make a statement of support for something they find profoundly immoral.
We might not get to choose which laws we obey, but we DO get to choose which laws we choose to organize to overturn.
