Ha...I have another 25 to get to that age...that’s OK...the mortgage will be paid off in 24.
My mother has a friend whose mother worked in the kitchen of a nursing home. One day, admin called her in and said they realized she was 85. Maybe she would like to retire?
She didn’t really want to, but her daughter convinced her to leave. She lived with the daughter and son-in-law and was well-taken care of; she didn’t have to work. Over the years, she would sometimes ask the daughter if she could go back to work, but the daughter felt she was doing right by keeping mom at home.
Her mom lived to be 103. Was basically fine until the last year or so when she had hearing issues.
