President Trump challenged Democrats to “come to the table” to fix the country’s immigration system, saying Monday that the current battle is over whether the U.S. should have borders. Speaking at the White House Mr. Trump said the U.S. “will not be a migrant camp.”
He said if Congress can find agreement on a way to update what he called the “worst immigration laws in the entire world” it could be a trendsetting move for the rest of the globe. “Just remember — a country without borders is not a country at all. Common sense president. How shocking.
Being able to control traffic over a lengthy border is great practice for the troops. I always thought that’d help over the gulf wars with the border between iraq/iran.
While the Nat Guard is part of he military, it sounds to me like he’s talking about RA which would not be limited by some lefty Governor’s whim. As RA the troops would be fully armed, heavy weapons and mechanized (tanks, arty, etc).
They could set up a mile wide patrol zone just on the other side (Mexican) ... the Mexican military would become involved - but then they already are mostly on the cartels side and would be ‘forced’ to back off.
