I wrote a few days ago he should do this. He needs to go to border, give a speech and really push this issue hard. It fires up the base like nothing else

I think the reason those gubmints ENCOURAGE their people to storm our border is not just for the money they send BACK, which goes into their Economy. But that the government gets a direct cut of all those remittances BEFORE the recipient gets what’s left. Therefore, it’s a rather slim chance they’ll actually DO anything to stop it.

what happens to NAFTA (er, USMCA now), daily cross-border otherwise legal work commutes, etc?

If you have legal permission to enter and do business, then you may do so. What do you think all those border crossing officers are doing all day? SMH

"Close the border" means a halt on asylum, refugee processing, slowing legal immigration (from those problem nations) and watching illegals make their runs... and an increase on deportations and enforcement. Intentionally confusing migration and legal commerce is the Liberals' approach, not ours.

The National Guard should already be there, full time, full strength. And not contingent upon anything.

Exactly.

But subject to a request by the CBP made pursuant to certain congressionally-established guidelines. I would add, instead of or in addition to the NG, where deemed appropriate U.S. military forces.

"With more than 60,000 employees, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, CBP, is one of the world's largest law enforcement organizations and is charged with keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the U.S...."

The organized, hostile movement of bodies across a border will always have a political element, but at some point must be recognized as an invasion.

Protecting the borders is the responsibility of the President. It requires no congressional authority or oversight. It does not fall under the War Powers Act. It is not covered by the Posse Comitatus Act either.

I believe the President has a completely free hand here to do what he thinks is best.

Close the border to all commercial traffic for 72 hours. Mexico will fold like a cheap suit.

If they don’t close it for another 72 hours.

Sorry, that mob of people showing up in the USA are often illiterate even in Spanish. That's a huge problem many Latinos won't admit to, especially those illegals from southern Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador.

“those gubmints ENCOURAGE their people to storm our border is not just for the money they send BACK, which goes into their Economy. But that the government gets a direct cut”

In Mexico, they issue transit visas for a fee at their Southern border. Along the route, migrants are shaken down by local Government personnel for money. So there is a direct stream of revenue to the official Government, and the under the table Party mechanisms.

The human trafficking/drug cartels are also a big constituency of the Political Parties, who provide bribes, and who they can’t afford to offend.

Close it without further threats...If it’s closed, we won’t have to listen to any more garbage about separating kids from their parents. Then it will be moaning and groaning about the military on the border!!

The close-mouthed Congressional Hispanic Caucus has been much too secretive about its role in the invasion of its amigos. Possibly using Congressional earmarks to finance the invasion (preparatory to overthrowing the US govt).

TIME TO OPEN THE BOOKS of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus
<><> What do they know about this?
<><> Who are they talking to?
<><> Who is giving them orders?
<><> Collusion and conspiracy with foreign agents could be involved.

Is the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (C/H/C) colluding to increase their political clout, to jet-stream US foreign aid to their Third World masters. (US tax dollars are then laundered, then funnelled back as campaign donations to amnesty-worshippers' campaign coffers).

================================================

SUBPOENA CELL PHONE RECORDS, COMPUTER DISKS, HARD DRIVES, WIRE-TRANSFERS
to determine whether the Hispanic Caucus colluded w/ foreign govts to aid and abet the overthrow of the US govt.

===================================================

Taxpayers demand to know the scope and dimension of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus using government offices for illegal purposes.

Taxpayers demand to know if members of the Hispanic Caucus belong to and/or finance violent latino groups advocating the overthrow of the US govt.

=================================================

Taxpayers demand documents held by the Hispanic Caucus be scrutinized for possible falsification.

Falsifying Government Documents involves altering, changing, or modifying a document for the purpose of deception.......can also involve forgery and/or passing copies of false documents. Falsifying documents is usually done in connection with broader criminal aims, such as extortion, government fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, financing terrorism........

Types of documents commonly falsified may include:
<>Tax returns and income statements
<>Personal checks
<>Bank account records
<>Business record keeping books
<>Immigration documents (such as visas, passports, etc.)
<>Identification cards and birth certificates

Many different types of acts can be considered as falsifying a document, including:
<>Altering or misrepresenting factual information such as prices or monetary amounts
<>Stating false information when requested to provide truthful statements
<>Forging a signature
<>Using official letterheads without authorization
<>Concealing assets or property WRT obtaining federal/state grants)
<>Knowingly using or distributing a fake document

A person can only be held criminally liable if they are deliberately acting with the intention of deceiving or defrauding another party.

Falsifying documents is a very serious offense and is generally classified as a felony. This means that a person charged with falsifying documents may be subject to the following legal penalties:
<>Having to pay a monetary fine
<>Incarceration in a prison facility

Depending on the gravity of the offense, as well as individual state laws, falsifying documents can result in a prison sentence of 5-10 years. Also, if government documents or authorities were involved, the legal penalties may be more severe. ..... legal penalties may increase with repeat offenses.

The penalty for falsifying government documents is outlined in the Crimes Act of 1958.

Pres Trump: U.S. won't become a 'migrant camp'
The Washington Times ^ | June 18, 2018 | Stephen Dinan
FR Posted by jazusamo

President Trump challenged Democrats to “come to the table” to fix the country’s immigration system, saying Monday that the current battle is over whether the U.S. should have borders. Speaking at the White House Mr. Trump said the U.S. “will not be a migrant camp.”

He said if Congress can find agreement on a way to update what he called the “worst immigration laws in the entire world” it could be a trendsetting move for the rest of the globe. “Just remember — a country without borders is not a country at all. We need borders, we need security, we need safety,” Mr. Trump said. (Excerpt) Read more at washingtontimes.com …

=====================================

Pres Trump said the U.S. “will not be a migrant camp.”

Nor should US border become an MS-13 recruitment center.

84 percent of minors detained at the border are teens. The vast majority are male......either MS-13 members now or about to be recruited by MS-13.

“that mob of people showing up in the USA are often illiterate even in Spanish”

There is also a racial component, where Mexican elites of Spanish descent want to get rid of their native Indian and Mestizo underclass.
