Self-identified liberals of all races and ethnicities now command a majority in the party, raising the possibility that views once confined mainly to the party elite have spread into the rank and file.

Except they are most definitely not liberals. They are Marxist Progressives. Big difference. Liberals (the real ones) are left of center, yes, but Progressives are communistic in how far left they are. I doubt they could go farther left without being militant Nazis or Stalinists. Oh wait!
