If you havent heard, universities around the world offering their courses online for free (or at least partially free). These courses are collectively called MOOCS or Massive Open Online Courses.
In the past seven years or so, over 800 universities have created around 10,000 of these MOOCs. And Ive been keeping track of these MOOCs the entire time over at Class Central, ever since they rose to prominence.
In the past four months alone, 190 universities have announced 600 such free online courses. Ive compiled this list below and categorized the courses into the following subjects: Computer Science, Mathematics, Programming, Data Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education & Teaching, Health & Medicine, Business, Personal Development, Engineering, Art & Design, and finally Science.
If you have trouble figuring out how to signup for Coursera courses for free, dont worry Ive written an article on how to do that, too.
Heres the full list of the new free online courses. Most of these are completely self-paced, so you can start taking them at your convenience.

Mine has the one that colon krapernick issed forth from. The liberalism and ignorance is almost audible emanating from there.
The folks who program the courses are Massive Open Online Programmers, or MOOPS.
How much is the tuition per course (or credit hour) at Udemy and Coursera? Do you have to buy text books too?
bttt
III Mil also has some courses that might be of interest. http://elearning.thirdmill.org/
I think being able to take difficult classes for audit is a better way to go. It may take longer, but it helps master the material.

I am very satisfied with Udemy. I have no experience with Coursera.
Check out my link at 25 to see if there is anything that interests you there.
“Do they give credit toward a degree for completion of these courses?”
Several universities offer an option of a specialized “Certificate” in certain areas for a small fee. Some of these courses are full semester with a lot of intense study and work. I did a Medical Neuroscience course through Coursera that was actually taught by Duke University. It was fabulous as it was taught as a learning diagnostic tool by providing symptoms and you were to identify the most likely area of the brain damaged but also the reverse by providing a damaged area and you needed to identify the symptoms. All for free.
Thanks! It really sounds like a great deal.

Actually, you are not that far off. The prepper in me thinks there could be a lot of good stuff here in that regard. I would be interested in courses in EMT training, farming and gardening and especially any trade classes in carpentry and construction. Im pretty weak in these areas and just a first year 101 level introduction would be worth checking out. In the area of gunsmithing, my buddy and I just got a Lee 5 station press for loading ammo. After about 8 hours spent getting the thing all set up and calibrated we think were ready for our first run this weekend. That was a long frustrating process and THANK GOD for YouTube how-to videos.
The Moops...Ive heard if them. They invaded Spain in the 8th century.
Thanks for posting this info!
That’s the problem. Most of those complaining that a college education costs too much don’t have the motivation to do it when it’s free.
Education is one thing.
Certification is another.

Udemy is 100% streaming/online. No books. Sometimes there are PDFs to download.
$15 - 30 has been normal for my picks. Sometimes there is a special.
