She’s too set in her ways. I can see the cognitive dissonance in direct conversation. She thinks the Democratic Party hasn’t changed since she was young, and it definitely has. Anything that they’re doing that’s leftist or hardcore crazy? She soft-pedals and dowmplays it, and acts like it’s no big deal, not important, or only the opinion of a small fringe. “Well I don’t agree with that, but...”

Trust me on this one.

Trust me on this one. I do trust your opinion, I am a poll worker in Indiana and it amazes me how many people vote straight party knowing NOTHING about the individual candidates....pathetic.

You’re right. Same thing with my dad. Downplays all the D-party nuttiness like it’s being overblown. It’ll always be 1963 for him.
