Sometimes it’s hard to see above the current media frenzy and calls against Saudi Arabia (or any other American ally) to understand what is at stake in the Middle East and it’s not just oil. Saudi Arabia is engaged in a proxy war against Shia Iran. That is the global picture and why we need these Camel Jockeys...moreover, they need us!

There can be no good relationship with a saracen country.

I hope so too - and by all accounts this ‘journalist’ was no saint.

HOWEVER - Trump does not need such reckless international allies - I can imaging he’s seething about the stupidity of this all. The optics are bad and because of apparent Saudi blood lust, he is now going to be under pressure at home. Probably another fart in the wind story, but the timing is bad.

In fact, it is such a crazy story, so sloppy, that one could be forgiven for thinking there could be an even greater conspiracy behind it all.

I disagree. It violates every principle our nation is supposed to have.

The North Korans sank the South’s naval ship, the Chonan, with a torpedo. The Obama administration sent a strongly worded diplomatic note. That was a direct military attack on an ally. If a strongly worded diplomatic note was the appropriate response to that, then standing on the border and using an interpreter in American Sign, a diplomat can shout a condemnation while the signer translates. (More than appropriate for the circumstances.) And, given how diplomatic notes are paid attention to, it doesn’t even matter which border or if anybody is on the other side. I’d suggest a border close to a Starbucks and a five star hotel.

Jamal Khashoggi is an MB terrorist and has been for years. His uncle is Adnan Khashoggi who has been an arms, drugs, human smuggler for decades. His exploits go all the way back to the contras/sandinistas. This guy sells weapons to anyone. He doesn't care.
Guess who will be taking over his operation.

https://gab.ai/Thomas_Wictor/posts/38389406
Jamal is also Saudi intel and is why he was being interrogated at the Turkish embassy and why he thought he could walk in and walk out.He did by the way 20 minutes after he arrived, its on video.

The answers to everyone’s questions are above as usual.
The US is a strategic ally with MBS and the Saudis and MBS has destroyed the cabal in Saudi Arabia created by 41 and continued by every potus since Trump.MBS,Mohammad ben Salman, jailed or contained all the bad guys and is now working with the US,and Israel taking the lead in taking down terror group after terror group.
With the Saudis taking the lead and the US providing logistic support and other support we now have muslims killing terrorists. Not infidels killing muslim terrorist, huge difference in the region.IT’s why the cabal and Iran,China,Russia,Turkey and others all want to get rid of MBS he thinks a lot like Trump.

Hardly. That’s a small part of what we do with the Saudis these days. It’s more about terrorist extermination and getting rid of the leftover cabal in the region.

Yep - big picture counts...and his terror creds were far more tidy than his being a “journalist”....if it had happened on Saudi soil (vs. a Saudi embassy on foreign soil) it would be page 12 sidebar...

If the facts show the government of Saudi Arabia was responsible for his death it should be held accountable.

Based on what else he said, held accountable how?

“Hanson is right. Hopefully Graham and the idiot Rubio will see the wisdom of his words.”

Yeh, while it’s not nice to execute journalists, it happen all over the world, all the time. The guy is not an American citizen and it happened in Turkey not the US. Seems to me while ok to condem it, this is really none of our business. It’s, between the Turks and the Saudi’s.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is against Wahhabism aka radical Islam. That’s the key point to understand.

Don’t forget that bin Laden tried to drive the Saudis into becoming a terror state. They fought him to the death on that.

Quick History lesson:

The Saudis’ ancestors were allies of the UK. They gained power through denouncing the earlier dynasty as too westernized. And the UK fell for their tricks despite the strident objections of Lawrence of Arabia [the most brilliant Middle East geopolitical strategist of his day].

Now the Saudis are seeking to be modern [it took us a long time to get them there] and Rubio is falling for the new anti-western movement which could place ISIS on the Saudi throne or something similar.

You are correct. The bottom line is that the Saudis are trying to drag a bunch of terrorist-wannabes kicking and screaming into civilization against their will.

I say more power to them!

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood are evil. Too bad the creep got tortured, but that’s the kind of thing his side wants to do on a mass scale in the name of jihad.

Khashoggi was on the side of terrorists, and his slick propaganda had snowed our mud-stream media.

I’m sorry he suffered, and I’m REALLY sorry he now meets the Perfect Judge.

May God have mercy on his soul!

I also agree. Once the essential facts are established, we can and should sanction the individuals involved using the principles and methods of the Magnitsky Act while affirming the importance and continuity of the US-Saudi strategic relationship.

Just so the basis for my reasoning is clear, I have little regard for Saudi Arabia or its nationals as a group. My concern is with US strategic interests.

It must also be kept in mind that Khashoggi was likely a target because of his Muslim Brotherhood ties and sympathies. Since the Brotherhood is an enemy of the US as well as the Saudi Arabian regime, Khashoggi was more a common enemy than simply a reporter. It may be that he exhausted his implicit protection as a reporter by acting in some manner as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood.

During the Cold War, the US rarely squawked overmuch when foreign allies arrested, imprisoned, or disappeared reporters who actively collaborated with or served as agents of communist secret services. The same reasoning applies here to urge a prudent restraint in avenging Khashoggi's disappearance and apparent death at the hands of the Saudi government.

There is supposedly a tape of someone screaming. I just can’t buy this one. They played into our fears of the barbaric Arabs in order to smuggle him out of the consulate and into a protection residence in a Turkish costume is my theory. But there is more to come on this one. I’m putting my imagination on hold until then.

He wasn’t even a US citizen. Perhaps his country of origin should be pursuing this. No other countries seem to make a big deal of US citizens being arrested, tortured or murdered in mid-east and African countries.
