Albany, NY -- The state's highest court, the Court of Appeals, has upheld the removal of Judge Leticia Astacio from the Rochester City Court bench.

In the 8-page ruling the Court said it considered the full spectrum of Astacio's behavior and "its impact on public perception of the judiciary."

The Court said, "Given petitioner’s apparent lack of insight into the gravity and impact of her behavior on both public perception of her fitness to perform her duties and on the judiciary overall, we conclude that any rupture in the public’s confidence cannot be repaired."

The bad part is that Mayor Lovely Warren gets to pick her replacement.

The ten year term started in 2014....so the city gets another piece of garbage for 6 years.

Rochester was my hometown....I hardly recognize it.

IIRC I've seen stuff about her on youtube. Is she the one who continued to drive drunk and miss court dates? If I'm thinking of the right one she missed one court date because she was in Thailand meditating with Buddhist monks.

Yes she’s the one.

She figured as a trifecta winner (woman, 1/2 black 1/2 hispanic) and as a democRAT she was impervious and entitled to special treatment.

She like Lovely Warren is demonstrative of the veracity of things laid out in John Derbyshire’s “the talk”
