Not completely preventable, unfortunately. Getting the vaccine does provide protection for most people, but some still get the flu. The vaccine can also lessen the severity of the illness. Once again this year, it is said that the vaccine is not as effective as hoped. Scientists are hoping to find a universal flu vaccine that is truly effective, so let’s pray for that.
