Yeah I heard it on Hannity today it was actually a miracle that Joe bastardi was able to get all those six storms named in between all of the interruptions from Hannity.

Wow, we had the same reaction to today's program. I was shouting at the radio, "Shut up and let the man talk!". Hannity can be such a lousy radio host sometimes.

My brother lived in Culter ridge during Andrew.
He was out of his house 15 months.
Parents lived in Hialeah at the time, no damage, out of power 2 weeks
I lived in Hollywood, list some limbs, out of power 24 hours
Get hit worse from Wilma

Being a beachfront building, it was spared from being mauled by wind-driven debris from other buildings to windward. A similarly-built home somewhat inland would not have fared as well.

I drove 90 then 98 from New Orleans to Jacksonville with my daughter two years ago. It was great looking at the homes that had been there awhile. And those that seemed to dare the ocean to come and try to knock them down. These were new houses on stilts with only staircases or elevators leading down to the ground. I always thought the flaw was the garage. Normally the garage was a cheap tear away building on the ground. I did not understand where the car was supposed to be during a hurricane. Somewhere else I assume.

You do realize Ruth, it costs fortune yearly, pays 250k max and is now extended so far inland by Ozero’s weaponized EPA/FEMA Bureaucracies.
Right? You have an extra 10k in your pocket to live within 3 miles of any Water that is semi tidal for a 250$k replacement?
We take a chance and rebuild.
