GA: Absentee ballots, initial in-person voting lines in Cobb showing early election enthusiasm

Vote early, and often. The oft-used mantra seems to have been taken to heart by many Cobb residents based on initial election turnout numbers released Monday before the end of the first day of early voting.

Votes submitted by absentee mail as of Friday, prior to the start of Monday’s in-person early voting, totaled 6,379 — nearly four times the number of votes returned by the same time ahead of the 2014 general election: 1,659. Absentee ballots issued for this year’s election total 21,689 — more than triple the 6,496 issued in 2014 prior to in-person voting then.

This year’s number also surpass those at the start of the 2016 presidential election period, which saw 19,839 ballots issued with 5,261 of them returned before voters could head to the polls...

Just so the right voters all take the trouble and turn out and vote.

The stakes are high.

Trump needs a R Congress to help him MAGA, instead of blocking it.

FL absentees and OH absentees look VERY much like 2016. Trump won both.

I have lived in Cobb since 1971. I was heartbroken when we went blue in ‘16. Light blue, but blue nonetheless.

President Trump didn’t simply win OH, President Trump CRUSHED the side-of-beef in Ohio :-) . IF (big if) the same turnout holds true, I think we are going to see some big rust belt surprises come election night.

GA:
Whites have returned 23,742 ballots (44.9%) blacks have returned 22,052 (41.7%).

The total is nearly double that of 2014 (no info on 2016).

White percentage expected to grow substantially, as it appears blacks have been mobilized for early voting.

Blacks will vote racist as they always do and they also get white liberals.

Not many of the latter in GA.

They did the same thing in Nevada and Florida with Hispanic voters, which might have contributed to the false confidence the Dems had going into Election night in 2016.

I read there was a targeted effort prior to 2016 to turn Cobb blue. Have you noticed a big influx of immigrants? Seems there were a lot of Syrian and Somali refugees brought to the area. Anyway I do remember thinking it would never go blue and I was shocked when Hillary won the county. I really hope Georgia is being careful of fraud - the rats are throwing a lot of money towards the governor race.

Agree. The big difference is Trump tapped into a LOT of D crossover votes, and we can’t be sure those same people will vote for Renacci-—however, shouldn’t be needed. After filtering out the indies, Rs have a 300,000 registration lead there, so Renacci “should” be ok.
