If people had accepted Darwin’s theory he postulated as settled, we wouldn’t have attained our modern understanding of nature.
Science can never be settled.
Back in HS, a long time ago, I had a very smart Biology teacher who said, ‘Any true scientist will tell you in science you never say never and you never say always. New facts can be found at anytime that challenge conventional wisdom’. I have never forgotten that.
