It didn't get him much, but it helped get us President Trump!
After successive elections that garnered him 17% and 12% of the electorate the Republican party STILL refused to believe or even acknowledge the enormity of the discontent in the land. This willfull blindness then continued for two more elections because the GOP was rewarded only due to the absurdity of the opponents. By 2008 the country was sick of what the GOP had wrought as well as its candidate, (see 9/12/09 march) and combined with fraud, we got Zer0....again for two terms. This is why there was such an outpouring of support for Mr. Trump when he came down that escalator. He saw and understood the discontent in the people that the GOP could not, or WOULD not, see.
So if you look at the big picture, IMO Mr. Perot was quite influential in showing Mr. Trump that NOW was the time for him to act....and for that I thank God.
