Doing well. A quiet week with a tropical storm through today and tomorrow and a Gulf of Alaska front passing through on Sunday. Temps 10-15 degrees below normal. Feels great.

"The Fountainhead"? Pretty good book, not so great a movie.

I hope you don’t have a lot of things that NEED to be done this weekend. Pro’ly ready for some R&R after this week!

No, we got nothing at all from Michael here. It’s only effect was ripping us off the rain we were going to get from the cold front. Sucked all the juice right out of it.

Now we’re chilly but it feels kind of nice. We were tired of 80’s and 90s.

Yuck. More high winds for y’all? Not fun! The rain will be good though.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

HARRY WARREN

GOLD DIGGERS OF 1935: ”LULLABY OF BROADWAY“

Doris could go from Big Band to a sweet Frank DeVol arrangement without difficulty. This is a jazzy Big Band take on the song.

Doris Day: “Lullaby of Broadway”

This is a clip from the Warners Brothers musical from 1951, a pastiche of Harry Warren tunes loosely connected to a plot. Doris started out as a hoofer before an accident turned her to singing.

I agree about the movie.

But for badness, it can’t hold a candle to the third episode of Atlas Shrugged.

Oh my...couldn’t get through the first ten minutes. And I liked Episode 1. Episode 2 wasn’t as good but I watched it all the way through. Episode 3 though was the pitz.

Yesterday and this morning were torrential rain and wind...possibly feeder bands or some other disturbance from Hurricane Michael...or maybe just lousy New England weather.

Agree. I was alone in the theater for Part 3, and I was happy about that. No one could see me squirming. I couldn't believe how bad it was.

Aglialaro should have turned it into a TV miniseries.
