What about banking/brokerage operations?

sounds like most will be over the weekend in the US, but that time frame also includes business days in the Orient.

My read is that it is potentially everything. They've had months to prepare and it is over the weekend, maybe late night as well. The challenge will be if individual registrars haven't kept current, and then individual server farms, etc.

Last year Google Chrome blocked SSL issued by a company that was sold from Israel to China, then used for illicit purposes. The warnings went out--to techies mostly--and ignored. When Google Chrome blocked sites using SSL issued by the now communist Chinese company, it disrupted lots of folks. If you tried going to those websites you were warned off. My company took a big hit--99% drop in sales for a month. We didn't realize our SSL would be affected and didn't realize the volume of business that came via Chrome users. Hardest part was that we didn't even know about the problem for a month. Safari, Firefox, and Edge users were not affected. They, though, accounted for less than 10% of our Internet traffic.
