Two of California's best-known Democrats are slipping in the polls as the calendar advances closer to Election Day.

In fact, both Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein have only single-digit leads over their opponents, the results show.

In the race for governor, a Probolsky Research poll, conducted between Aug. 29-Sept. 2, shows Newsom leading Republican businessman John Cox by a mere 5 points, with 17 percent of respondents undecided, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Feinstein faces similar problems, with the poll showing her with only an 8-point advantage over progressive challenger Kevin de León. A quarter of the respondents told the pollsters they remain undecided...

September 7th is the most recent poll I could find. As of this morning I could find nothing current on the California's governor's race on the real RealClearPolitics site at all.

Imagine if John Cox actually got some coverage.

I was in California a week ago—Sacramento and Colusa areas. Saw a number of Cox signs.

The ‘mob’ moniker is sticking pretty good too.

To a lot of people the democrats are exposed as complete dirtbags. After accusing the republicans of causing violence, democrats are openly calling for violence. They are always hypocrites but you can’t get much more blatant than that.

I think CA voters should vote earnestly for DiFi.

Hear me out.

When she is thrown in prison after we win the midterms, the newly elected Republican governor of CA can appoint her replacement

Winning.

They had go out and politicize it because they thought it would strengthen their street cred with their lunatic base.

Instead, it turned off everyone else. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Senate race is meaningless. Heads they win, tails we lose. The are both Democrats.

Maybe this suggestion is at play:

Feinstein: Greater of Two Evils

Feinstein is running against an even bigger communist, but the governor’s race sure is interesting. However, Whitman lost to Moonbeam in 2010 of all years, so I won’t hold my breath.

Not totally shocked by this. Despite the overwhelming Dem advantage in the state, Gavvy is beatable. He’s well-spoken, but there’s no there there. He’s an airhead with a Patrick Bateman/American Psycho vibe going on that turns off a lot of folks.

Nice this happens just as early voting starts! Hopefully Republicans can keep this new momentum up for the next month.

My thought is she just might kick the bucket. She's looking pretty decrepit.

I would agree with you on supporting/voting for Di Fi but for another reason.

At her age, the belief is that she only intends to be there for a year, then retire, and Newsome (hoping he makes governor) would appoint himself into the seat.

If Newsom loses, Di Fi has to stay in reasonable health for six years, and that’s not going to happen.

You’re right. I yield to no one in my loathing of Feinstein, but she is ancient, unlikely to survive a full term, and Ponce DeLeon is even more evil than Feinstein.

Believe it or not, lot of strategy in CA is to Vote FOR Dianne Feinstein. It’s because Kevin de Leon would be an even bigger disaster and many believe Feinstein’s days are numbered anyway.
