When they give you a flu shot it hurts, at first.

When I went in for shoulder surgery 9 years ago, it hurt for a few months. I’ve been a lot better than before the surgery ever since.

To make an omelette, you have to break some eggs.

I think you get my drift here. :-)

Who is more “deep state” than the FED? And who wants to harm President Trump? The deep state.

The IMF loves what Powell is doing because it hurts the USA.

The IMF globalist are the enemy of America. Which ask the question: Who’s side is Powell working for?

the deep state seems several levels deep if trump can’t get good personnel picks, and it seems he may still be plagued by deep state traitors. maybe they are not deep staters when appointed but relatively easy to reach by the deep state once they assume office? or, trump simply can’t find good folks? seems to me he could come to some grassroots orgs such as FR and find good folks (but what do i know...)

i had pegged the problem to the USMCA, which is tangentially connected to the US-China trade impasse...

the fed rate hike announcement was 14 days ago, so maybe trump is kicking up more kabuki dust (??) if only just until the next major market uptick (??)

https://www.businessinsider.com/federal-reserve-fomc-statement-and-interest-rate-decision-september-2018-2018-9

and he just appointed a fed regulator allegedly counter to his views 21 days ago:

I disagree with President Trump. I’m looking at my small portfolio. The sell off has hardly dented the increase over the past year, if you have solid stocks. Some selloff will generate profits and spending will contribute to the economy. And some seniors and near-retirees just might be putting some money in FDIC insured CDs, now that interest is going up.

Any written piece that begins by calling the President “Mr. Trump”, you know is not written by someone of pro Trump leanings or in this case, an avowed leftest a hole.

Trump is finally pointing out the difference between his economic success vs. Obama’s massive economic screw up. Obama came in at the end of a huge crash. He should have gotten a big bounce in the first year or two. He did not get that because he was at war with business. The market did go up, but that was because the Fed was so scared that it would tank that they threw trillions of dollars at the market, more than any Fed has ever thrown at a market by far. Negative rates for half a decade and buying up $4 trillion dollars worth of US bonds. So Obama had training wheels on from the beginning to the end. He was never allowed to be in charge of the economy.

Trump is fixing all the trade deals, handling the Chinese. He is fixing the taxes, wringing the last few jobs out of the employment market. And he is slowing immigration. So he is doing all the hard stuff that Obama never had the ability or the balls to do.

The market is uncertain about the mid terms. They think the house is in doubt.
Just my opinion.

This is not a surprise. Deep State owns the FED. I have said from the day Trump first bragged about the market, that an October surprise, right before midterm would probably be engineered.

In 2007, I reduced my meager stock holdings by 50%, so the 2008 crash was not a big deal to my investments.

It’s time to do the same again. I have already moved about 10%. I also like to purchase Am. silver eagles when the price of silver dips.

That’s for long term holding - good gift for kids and grandkids when I kick the bucket, and in the interim, a hedge in case SHTF.

In other countries, the central bank is part of the Government. In USA, the people wanting a central bank, planned it, got the bill through congress, but they pretended in public to be against it-cause they were banksters.

However, whenever a Central Bank is part of the Government, it has not seemed to make them any better than our FED. Corruption is rampant in governments all over the world.

Based on past observations, nothing spurs the Fed into action like wage gains for America’s hourly workers. That’s a sign of inflation, don’t you know. And in Trump’s economy, hourly workers are realizing their first significant gains in many years and the Fed just can’t abide that so they have to hit the brakes.

Dropping interest rates is a tool to give an ailing economy a boost. If you keep interest rates at zero, you lose having that tool when you need it. The time to raise rates is when the economy is strong, like now.
