Just a thought. While you are certainly correct, if it was a FA then the cop would still be alive today if it weren’t made.
But that is a separate issue. If there is any evidence of that (and so far I've only seen it suggested on this thread) then it should be investigated and proper prosecutions made. But that certainly doesn't provide any defense in the capital murder case.
