making a purse out of a sow's ear article, the bottom line is, if you're not signed up to a food bank and you're eligible, get signed up now. Beef and pork coming soon as the government pours fresh food into the nations' Food Pantries.

Someone should remind Trump that the number one health problem for America’s poor people is - obesity!

Looked at signing up for Meals-On-Wheels when the health issues became worse. “Too young” they said.

This might fail. Perishables is a bad idea. Being canned might help. I hope I am wrong, but most of this is going to rot...

Just like the school lunches, Most just will not eat fresh foods that are good for you, they want fast food because they are too lazy to cook fresh foods. The newer generation doesn’t even know how.

Being canned would give all this a year and a half shelf life and most might be consumed and not wasted.

There are 4 food pantries in our little podunk town. Clicked on a couple of their websites to see comments meaning their customers have computers and internet. Such upside down priorities. That or they’re out for freebies.

Years ago, the food stamp secretary and my secretary shared the same front office window. The food stamp secretary finally got tired of their clients coming in whining about no milk for their kids while at the same time talking about having their hair and nails done before going out partying the night before. She crunched the numbers and realized they were making more than she was working 40/hr wk. She quit.

This is probably better than the typical government approach which is to buy with tax payer money & destroy the food. All government ideas seem to raise the prices for those of us that have to buy with our own money.

parents should be supplying food to feed their kids,, not the govt. Because if kids or adults eating govt provided food end up obese etc they will blame govt. plus it examples to kids to depend on govt or others for help instead of coming up with own ways to support themselves.

People need to be responsibile - for how many mouths they create, need feeding.

Church/Orgs taking part in govt subsidies to feed people also part of the problem.
