Hungary FM on CNN: We've Been a Christian Country for a Millennium and We Don’t Want to Change That

Christiane Amanpour, one of the most well-known faces of CNN, uploaded a 4-minute long video to her official Facebook page from her interview with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She tries to find the answer to what exactly Prime Minister Viktor Orbán means when he says he’s trying to preserve a “Christian Hungary.”

Amanpour pointed out that Hungary also “claims to have an immigration problem” and that Hungary doesn’t want these – as Prime Minister Orbán called them – “invaders” in the country; Szijjártó quickly corrected the term to “illegal migrants.”

"We have been a Christian country for a millennium and I don’t really understand why is it bad news that we don’t want to change that. And I don’t understand why is it bad or why is it unacceptable that we would like to stick to our history, to our culture, to our heritage, to our religion."

And as per the National Catholic Register:

"Hungary is the only country in the world to have a department dedicated to helping persecuted Christians. Hungary’s bishops are supporting the government’s commitment and on Sept. 5 made an appeal to help Christians suffering from persecution in Africa and Asia."

The Episcopal Conferences of Central and Eastern Europe issued a statement Sept. 7 in which they said the migration crisis shows “it is not easy to overcome the mental and cultural differences that exist between East and West.” They added that, although nations must not be “indifferent” to those “in life-endangering situations or suffer from hunger and famine,” everything must be done “to help their countries of origin to solve the problems that cause migration.”

CNN, ignorant on history among the other many and varied topics they know nothing about. Maybe if you (annepour anti-American) lived in a place that was attacked, pillaged, raped, enslaved for 100s of years by mooselimb invaders, then you might start to understand their position.

I think they have not gone far enough, and need to chop off the heads of the invaders and put them on pikes along the border like was done before in history, as these invaders are emboldened and have no fear of the inhabitants.

This guy is AMAZING. I’ve seen sparring with some psycho lib (redundant) b*tch reporter from the BBC, and she was positively SEETHING with rage because he wouldn’t back down.

Hehe... he hit with both Nationalist MALE Privilege AND White Privilege at the same time.

And she didn’t know what to do.

Great video, if you can find it. YouTube may have pulled it already.

I have several friends who are Hungarian immigrants.

They are great people and strong Christians.

I don’t understand why is it bad or why is it unacceptable that we would like to stick to our history, to our culture, to our heritage, to our religion. We never judged other countries that have different kinds of policies.

You have yours, we have ours, what's the problem? This is a statement that a moose can't find an argument against - because it is also their foundation to 'stick to' their heritage and religion. The only honest response a moose can give is, we want to replace your heritage and religion.

Hungary became a Christian nation in 1000 AD, when Stephen I (later Saint Stephen) was crowned Catholic and Apostolic King of Hungary.

"Hungary is the shield of Christianity and the protector of Western civilisation" , Pope Pius II.

The Ottoman Turks invaded Hungary in 1521, with the capture of her southern fortress (on the site of modern Belgrade). And by 1526, they had completed the conquest of the country, defeating the Hungarian army decisively at the Battle of Mohacs.

In a strange replay, this was the site of a second battle, in 1667, when the army of the Holy League defeated the Turks, and reconquered most of Hungary. But they could not restore the 30% or so of the former population that had fled, been driven out, or outright massacred.

Never Again!

I lived in Budapest twice and learned the language. Hungary is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly. If you make an effort to learn their language (which is incredibly hard) they absolutely LOVE you.

Hungary was occupied by the Ottomans for 150 years. Having had experience with muslim occupation, they see no need to sacrifice their only recently regained national sovereignty as well as their cultural heritage on the altar of political correct multi culturalism.

Hala Istennek! (thank God)

I’m glad to see they are keeping Hungary for the Hungarians. Ditto the Poles and the Czechs.

The George Soros and the diasporans at CNN are sad.
