But at some point it just gives me a headache. It’s better for my mental health if I pretend these dopes don’t exist, and I justify it because nobody but the true-believing weirdos actually watch them.

I agree. I would really like to see a new FreeRepublic category: “Barf Alerts” for crap from CNN and WashPost and NYTimes and Sac Bee, etc. I really hate having to skim over the spew level detritus to find a post to engage with.
