Actually, I just googled this the other day. Flake’s son Austin and his wife at the time were staying at her parents house while they went on vacation to Florida. The in-laws ran a doggie daycare in their home, with over 20 dogs staying there at the time. Overnight, they kept all those dogs together in a 9 x 12’ room with only 1 vent. The AC failed overnight and several of the dogs were dead by morning, with all but 2 surviving by the end of the day. One of those 2 died at the vet’s office and the other ran away and got hit by a car. The in-laws were notified and starting lying to the dog owners about how they died, but eventually they plead guilty to 1 felony each. Austin and his wife got off scot-free AFAIK, even tho it happened under their watch. 🤬
