Democrats Denounce Limits on F.B.I.’s Kavanaugh Inquiry as a ‘Farce’
New York Times ^ | September 30, 2018 | Michael D. Shear and Robin Pogrebin

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. moved on Sunday to quickly complete an abbreviated investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, even as Democrats demanded more information about the inquiry’s scope, warning that its apparent constraints could make it a “farce.”

As agents conducted their review, which involves interviewing four potential witnesses, a college professor in North Carolina became the latest in a series of former Yale classmates of Judge Kavanaugh’s to accuse him of giving untruthful testimony by minimizing his use of alcohol when he was a student.

The professor, Chad Ludington, said he frequently saw Judge Kavanaugh “staggering from alcohol consumption” during their student years. He said he planned to tell his story to the F.B.I. at its office in Raleigh, N.C., on Monday. A spokesman for the White House declined to comment on Mr. Ludington’s allegations.

Officials said the F.B.I.’s “limited” supplemental background check of Judge Kavanaugh could be finished by Monday morning. Set in motion late last week by three Senate Republicans, the inquiry was supposed to shed further light on accusations that Judge Kavanaugh engaged in sexual misconduct during his high school and college years and help resolve the fierce national debate over whether he should win confirmation to the Supreme Court.

But the investigation’s apparent narrow reach has infuriated the judge’s critics, who said he should be subjected to a wide-ranging examination of his drinking and possible sexual misconduct.

Instead, the F.B.I. was directed by the White House and Senate Republicans to interview just four people: Mark Judge and P.J. Smyth, high school friends of Judge Kavanaugh’s; Leland Keyser, a high school friend of one of Judge Kavanaugh’s accusers, Christine Blasey Ford; and Deborah Ramirez, another of the judge’s accusers.

The character assassins want an unending fishing expedition. If they wanted to investigate, Feinstein should have disclosed Ford's letter to the judiciary committee when she received it.

Lol, the story about Ford’s trauma being actually a defense against Palo Alto’s crackdown on illegal apartments is hilarious. This woman is going down.

And????????????????? Do you have some proof with that?

Because you could use that staggering thing to describe EVERY college student.

If this man was one of the three rommies, freshman year, at Yale, Kavanaugh has already given a now redacted statement to the FBI about him ( and it obviously is NOT “good” about him ) which Kavanaugh briefly alluded to at the Kafkaesque “hearing”.

As predicted - they will call for further delay claiming the FBI investigation they insisted was necessary was insufficient and call for yet another investigation...that one being an 8th investigation.

Here in Minneapolis there is a professor who was a classmate of Judge K at Yale. Originally he supported him but now he says he can’t because of all these allegations.

I hope some of his female students accuse him of something. Then he will know how it feels.

FBI is going to issue a very neutral vanilla report. Judge Kav will get a clean bill and Sybil’s gang will get a free pass. They will kick it back up to the Senate and be done with it avoiding being roiled In it’s controversial high drama.

Ted Kennedy would of gone down in flames if he was subjected to something like this!

What was a farce was the exoneration of Mrs. Clinton.

The Russia, Russia, Russia thing is a farce.

The ambushing and savaging of a Supreme Court nominee is a farce.

The Democrat Party is a farce.

They need to be called out on this.

1. Chris Coons at the hearing, called for a 1 week investigation, to clear up the controversy. He said it would be 1 week.

2. That’s what everyone was agreeing to, was a 1 week delay.

3. A big talking point among Democrats and liberal talking heads on TV, was that the Anita Hill FBI investigation was done in 3 days, and because these supplemental investigations can be done so quickly, that there was no reason not to do such a quick investigation to clear everything up.

We need to hold them to what they agreed to, and what they have said was the proper way to proceed.

We have to say, no, you don’t get more time. This is what was agreed to, all of you said that with Anita HIll, it was done quickly and would be done quickly in this case too.

I read that they’d contacted Deborah Ramirez as well. This is the NY Slimes. How accurate can it be?
