That might work in the movies. In real life, your plan assumes that Murkowski and Collins would vote for Kavanaugh without holding a hearing for Ford. That was never going to happen.

He was for us, and then that elevator incident convinced him to say he wouldn’t vote for Cavanaugh.
There was no real defense of Kavanaugh. The witness had her say after weeks of delay. How do you counter that?

At this point, sure you have to have the FBI investigation.
The FBI should have been running down this broad’s history a month ago. But then that would take some family jewels on our side, and I haven’t seen any in the U. S. Senate on our side in so long, I’m not sure there are any.
