More than 5 million people tuned into Fox News on Thursday to watch the Senate Judiciary Committees hearing with Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
According to Nielsen Media numbers, Fox averaged 5,691,000 viewers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with coverage of the hearing led by Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum and Chris Wallace.
The staggering ratings continued into the primetime shows, where Tucker Carlson Tonight garnered 5,283,000 viewers, Hannity earned 5,857,000, and The Ingraham Angle snagged 5,369,000.
Fox News managed to beat both MSNBC and CNN combined, with MSNBC averaging 2,892,000 viewers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and CNN averaging 2,515,000.

Trust me, there’s way more than 5 million people pissed off about it.
I would imagine 20 xs that watched it like I did. Later on the internet since it was during working hours for most of us.
One can only hope.
If there is no “Blue Wave” and the Republicans not only hold the house and Senate but increase their majority the Demondogs may very well devour themselves.
If I were the Democrats, I would drop this Kavanaugh gig like a hot potato immediately. The polling numbers are looking terrible for the Democrat low life!!!
I watched the hearing on Fox Business News. The last time I’d watched FBN was when President Trump was Inaugurated. Before that, it was election night 2016. Before that...election night 2008. Thursday night, after spending all day screaming at my TV, I had a headache and my blood pressure was up. Reminded me of why I gave up watching TV news programs all those years before.
Agreed.
More than 100 million watched the last episode of MASH back in 1983, when the population of the United States was about 2/3 what it is today.
Then English was the spoken and written language of the USA
I haven’t heard or read any polls about the “opinions” (convictions/disgust) after the hearing.
Do you have links to any?
I would suggest that in terms of watching the live-coverage....maybe five million watched. If you talk about delayed viewing (like me, and I caught most of this via YouTube twelve hours later)...there’s probably another forty million. Then you have those who viewed the clips and read the summaries. I would estimate that sixty-percent of Americans have an opinion on this and it’s mostly negative.
In the end, it was a circus show. Some clown Senators did their act. Some guest clown (Ford) did her act. Some journalist clowns did their act. And you walked out mostly laughing because it just doesn’t fit as a serious allegation. Ford appears even today...to have memory problems. Either she had a serious concussion in her youth, or had serious alcohol incidents with black-outs.
If I were the Democrats, I’d now be in fear of what the eventual retaliation will be (Somewhere in a year or two...one of the Democratic-leaning Justices will pass on or retire, and I think Trump will just stand there...maybe for two years, and refuse to nominate anyone for the post).
5 million is a staggering number not as a highly rated television show, but as a cable news show, and the magnitude of this number is compounded by the differential with the viewership on the leftist cable shows (CNN being mostly irrelevant due to its distribution not by viewer choice but by its ubiquity in public establishments.)
In raw terms, this means Trump supporters are ON FIRE. Look for a bigly, yuge Pubbie turnout this November and a devastating rout of the ‘rats.
>> delayed viewing... theres probably another forty million.
Excellent point.
Does that count people who saw it second-hand, on You Tube and other video services, through other cable shows, through television, online, on their phones and devices, at airports and medical offices?
Back in the days of 1983 there were only the legacy TV stations, NBC, ABC, CBS. The entire world has changed, the Cable TV stations, the direct feeds from all over, C-Span, the internet, etc.. There are a zillion ways to plug in to the communication vehicles these days. In addition, MASH...which I loved, was at prime time in the evening.
When you add the FNC playovers in the early morning hours, the FOX Business News Channel, you come up with some pretty impressive numbers. FNC & FBN are slaughtering both MSNBC & CNN and it will continue that way until MSNBC/NBC provide the viewing audience with balanced truthful news. At the end of the day you gotta live in the “real” world, not a negative garden of dreamland fiction. At this moment “Fox” owns the Cable TV audience...period!!! It will stay that way for many years to come.

Those who watched would have voted no matter what. They are all now angry also, regardless of which side they are on, and they will work to get others to the polls. This could be a very active election, a good thing with more Fox viewers than MSNBC and CNN combined.
Sabato thinks those people will stay home if Kav gets the seat. Not bloody likely after what the Rats pulled.
