True, and the initial release of the accusations from an anonymous source was useless and would have gone nowhere. It was necessary to leak Ford's name to give enough credibility to the accusations for them to be put before the full committee and debated.

That raises an interesting question. Can a member of Congress sit on pertinent information or are they legally bound to release it?
As a constituent, when I talk to my congressman or senator, are my communications protected and at what level? If I talk to my attorney, I know the communications are typically privileged. If I talk to my accountant, the communications are typically confidential but not privileged. Did Ford have any reasonable expectations that her communications would be protected from release?

What Ford thought probably depended upon what she had been promised in terms of confidentiality, and I believe she did expect anonymity, perhaps naively. No idea what senate rules or laws might apply in this situation.
I’ll add that I’d bet that the most nervous and unhappy person of all concerning an investigation by the FBI is Dr. Ford. She is the absolute logical starting point for questioning by the FBI.
She is not happy this afternoon.
She has been a horrible person and enemy of our country for a long time.
