Howie Carr: No Kavanaugh treatment for Charlie Baker’s son
The Boston Herald ^ | 28 September 2018 | Howie Carr

Posted on 09/28/2018 7:04:25 AM PDT by Hemingway's Ghost

Here’s a tweet from yesterday that I bet Gov. Charlie Baker would like to have back:

“The accusations brought against Judge Kavanaugh are sickening and deserve an independent investigation. There should be no vote in the Senate.”

I know, he’s a RINO, absolutely shameless. If they ever name a street after Tall Deval, it’ll have to be one-way.

But unlike the other gutless RINO governors throwing Kavanaugh under the bus over uncorroborated groping charges (think the son of a mailman), Tall Deval has a son, A.J. Baker, who is credibly accused of exactly what the judge is not credibly accused of.

According to the state police, there are multiple witnesses who heard young Baker’s victim begging him to stop groping her.

It's hard to say, being that there are very, very little Republicans in Massachusetts at all---let alone non-RINOs---but after this tweet yesterday, I swear before almighty God I will never cast a vote for Baker again.

Are we talking Robert Reich Munchkin-scale here, or what?

For those a bit confused, Tall Deval is Howie’s name for Baker. His politics are hardly distinguishable from the original Short Deval

...and the run of the mill commies (i.e. everyone else in taxachusetts) are even smaller!

Who is the biggest phony claiming to be a member of the GOP? Charlie Baker or Postman Jr. Kasich?

Was watching some Mel Gibson flick the other day. He was playing a Boston PD detective. Talking to someone who happened to have a gun he mentioned that that was illegal in Massachusetts. The someone replied ‘everything is illegal in Massachusetts’. LOL.

Pretty much! I'm on month #4, waiting for a renewal of my Class A LTC.

But weed is legal here, even though you can't buy it in stores yet.

Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for enabling my escape from communist Massachusetts in 2008. Amen.

In the legislature and state government, almost nothing better than RINO’s.

But in the population, there are more conservatives than you would think. It is just that they have jury-rigged the political processes up here so that pretty much the only way to get elected is to be a Democrat.

My father, who ran for office back in the Seventies, ran as a Democrat in Massachusetts.

He was no Democrat. He was a career Navy, plankowner of Citizens for Limited Taxation, and socially and fiscally extremely conservative. But he put a “D” after his name to get into the process, and it didn’t work at the state level.

But that is how it is.

It is great if you can. I am married, and my wife isn’t leaving, so I am staying. If I weren’t married, I would leave, even though geographically I love the area.

Never been one to run away from a fight, either, even an unwinnable one like politics up here. Have decided to live behind enemy lines is all.

Seconded. Rhombus and I know each other in real life; he knows my deal ;-).

Although she is wavering, Rhombus, she is wavering.

Another complication is children, and I have two of them. Picking up and slipping over the border might pose a few challenges on that end. But if it were just me and my wife, arguably we'd slip over the northern border and never look back.

Anecdote...

When I was transitioning out of the Navy in the mid-1990s, I had plans to go to law school, and I was looking for a part-time position sort of related to law to bide the time. A lieutenant friend of mine had a father who was in charge of hiring staffers at the State House, and this friend hooked me up with his father thinking I might be able to get on someone's staff up there.

The interview was going very well up until the guy intimated that the legislature was heavily Democrat and the party was very strong, etc., and would I be okay with that. Stupidly, I said "well, I'm an independent, but I wouldn't have a problem working for a Democrat."

End of interview. No job for me!

That story is 100% totally believable. It is like Daley’s Chicago here, but it is state-wide.

I despise Leftists. I get stuck behind those cars with all the stupid “No Blood For Oil” and “Coexist” stickers stuck all over the back.

I have to get around them. And when I peek a look, they all look the same. A pear-shaped guy with a beard, or some homely granny-like woman with a bun.

Sometimes -- Ed King, John Silber -- the Democrat was even more conservative than the Republican.

I don't see that happening again. Old-style ethnic Democrats are dying out, and those who get elected -- Menino, Walsh -- aren't very much different from the very liberal suburbanites. Steve Lynch has gotten that way too.

Sigh. I know. As long as my wife is with me, I am staying where she stays.

But if she ever wants to move, I am prepared with suggestions...
