New York state’s disgraced former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver just got another get-out-of-jail-free card — thanks to a new appeals court ruling.
In the latest twist in Silver’s ongoing prison saga, a Manhattan federal appeals court has ruled that the convicted Democrat can stay out of jail until the court hears his request for bail pending appeal.
Silver, 74, had been ordered to turn himself in to the Bureau of Prisons on Oct. 5 to begin his seven-year sentence for $4 million in kickbacks he pocketed in a 10-year period as speaker of the Assembly.

Used to be a super-powerful Democrat.
Now he’s trying to stay out of the hoosegow.
Most of the bowling pins around Gov Cueball have fallen.
This one belongs under a prison he is so rotten!
Maybe its the fault of the “weather?” He blamed stagnant NY State economy on the weather, so perhaps corruption is weather related?
The sentencing will drag out until it falls out of the public consciousness and then he gets a slap on the wrist.

He has friends everywhere even including the courts.
But Cosby was not able to stay out on bail pending appeal. I guess if you screw a drunk chick hanging out in your bedroom, that’s different than screwing the taxpayers ...which is apparently much more approved of by the Intelligentsia and judges.
It's how they make a living, duh.
