Trump Will Flip Rosenstein: Rod will have to be Trump's best friend to save his career

Watch and learn. You will see Rod Rosenstein become President Trump's best friend. He may not survive the friendship, but he really doesn't have any other choice but to do as he is told after what is said he did in the closing days of James Comey's reign as FBI director and the Mueller appointment as special counsel. As is usually the case, Andrew C. McCarthy explains Rosenstein's underhanded "weasel" machinations the best.

This is the long and the short of it: Rosenstein not only wrote the memo giving the reasons for the termination of FBI director Comey, but actively sought the opportunity to do so. The memo is dated May 9, 2017, the day after Comey's firing.

He wanted to write the memo because, at the time, the Democrats were saying Comey cost Clinton the presidency by reopening the investigation into her "private server/email" just before the election of 2016.

Rosenstein believed that in writing the memo, he would be hailed by Democrats as a hero. In the memo, he leans heavily on Comey's actions "usurp[ing] the Attorney General's authority." He makes a good case for firing Comey based on what he did to Clinton, a private citizen and candidate for elected office, who at the time was (and still is) not charged with a crime.

When all hell broke loose, Rosenstein was surprised. He thought he was doing the left's bidding. Only by then, the Democrats had switched tracks and accused him, by writing the memo, of giving justification to Trump's efforts to collude, obstruct, or whatever they imagined the president was doing.

Comey had become their hero.

Rosenweael can continue to be a scurrilous mole within the Swamp.

He will just have a new master.

If some of the documents Rosenstein has refused to release contain information damaging to Rosenstein, I wouldn’t bet on his becoming more cooperative.

Is Rosenstien a member of the coup clutz clan or just a useful idiot for hiring Mueller?

I’ve had him pegged as the last firewall given his handling of document production.

Looks like the other way around.

Rosenstein is still in his job. He’s still overseeing Mueller. He got away with stonewalling and defying congress. And he convinced Trump to back off on releasing the FISA docs.

He seems to be winning. Just saying.

Color me skeptical about this theory.

This guy is far to proud and far too self-confident, even if that is an arrogant or delusional trait, I’m sure it got him where he is, and he isn’t just going to stop on a dime.

Now, he may go from openly defiant and transition to a more passive-aggressive, two-face obstructionism whereby he fronts cooperative friendliness but he stalls, resists, and even sabotages wherever possible. He may recognize when he doesn’t have the upper-hand and adjust accordingly, but he isn’t going to change his feathers.

More likely Trump tells him to resign or be fired and face charges.

It would be interesting to see if Eddie Munster (Paul Ryan) is forced to disclose the particulars surrounding the $17-million payout for sexual harassment.

Sometimes he misses. That's because the most disgusting DC swampthings are so much slimier than anything in the business world. But with someone like Rosenstein, yeah he gets it right. Rosenstein put himself in a lose-lose situation. He could quit his job or he could hang on with a boss who expects total loyalty, especially now that he has given Trump very excellent reasons to fire him.

In my fantasy world, President Trump would tell Rosenstein that the "Russia" investigation is over and a report will be submitted by October 10.

I said it yesterday.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer'

Mr Rosenstein exposed himself. Now he has to be on his best behavior.

His best option is to resign but he can't right away. It would make him look guilty.

He's has to find a way to orchestrate his exit which doesn't make him look guilty.

Rosenstein has no future career under President Trump. The Deep State people are stalling for time, in hopes that they will be saved by the mid-term elections.

He may have been shown the known evidence of sedition and treason (others who have flipped), and told to flip or face the full consequences on his own (do we still execute traitors?). There may be bigger fish to fry here, and RR turning states evidence would look very interesting in the annuls of history...

Bingo @ 15

The stall, delay, and obstruct tactics are a full court press assuming the mid-terms will change the script. Period.

Rosenweasel. Once a weasel, always a weasel. Kind of like an informant, once one is an informant or a traitor, then that person can never be trusted by anyone for anything ever. Both sides can never trust this person again. Use him, sure, trust him? Never.

Rosenweasel is up to his eyeballs in stuff he created because he thought he was a player, but he is too incompetent to be one. Rosenweasel cannot be trusted without 24/7 monitoring. He should be waterboarded, etc, somewhere overseas until all useful information he has is extracted, then lock him up in a Turkish prison for the rest of his short life. Too bad none of this can be done, because that is the least a coupe participant deserves.

Nonsense. Sheer speculation. Rosenstein can fall on his sword opposing the President, and companies and law firms will line up to reward him for it with a fat salary. This reminds me of Freepers celebrating the “strategery” of Dubya when there was nothing there. No matter how bad things got, no matter what boneheaded move he made, we were told that there was a brilliant secret plan. There wasn’t. Rosenstein is a weasel through and through, and the sooner he is fired, the better.

In the last year we’ve been told that everyone involved in the coup attempt was about to flip, none have. I call BS on this theory. None of the leftist DS cadre will betray the resistance as long as that stooge Sessions continues to give them cover.
