The Trump administration's secret anti-China plans
Axiox ^ | September 23, 2018 | Jonathan Swan

Posted on 09/24/2018 1:13:41 AM PDT by be-baw

The Trump administration is planning to launch a major, "administration-wide," broadside against China, according to two sources briefed on the sensitive internal discussions. These sources, who weren't authorized to discuss the plans with the media, told me the effort is expected to launch in the next few weeks.

What we're hearing:

The broadside against China — which is planned to be both rhetorical and substantive — will be "administration-wide," including the White House (led by senior officials on the National Security Council), Treasury, Commerce and Defense. "We're not just going to let Russia be the bogeyman," one White House official told me. "It's Russia and China."

The White House plans to unveil new information about China's hostile actions against America's public and private sectors, and to act on it.

Administration officials will call out China for its "malign activity" in cyberattacks, election interference and industrial warfare (e.g., intellectual property theft), an administration source told me.

The administration has marshaled tons of data to support its charges against China. "We are going to show how the Chinese have infiltrated the U.S. and what we are doing to counter it," the source said.

Behind the scenes:

"The push is coming from the national security apparatus," the source added. "Cyber theft has been appearing more often in the PDBs [President's Daily Brief]."

The unknowns:

Neither administration official explained why the administration is pursuing this now. China has been an aggressor on trade and cyber issues for years, and the Trump administration has started a trade war with the country. At the same time, Trump has maintained cheery rhetoric toward President Xi Jinping in hopes of cooperating on some issues.

The extent to which Trump will lead this rhetorical push isn’t clear. But he's green lit it, according to a source familiar with the planning.

There's a good chance Trump will keep saying positive things about Xi to protect their relationship, delegating the hottest rhetoric to China hawks like Peter Navarro.

Oh, boy. There’s the alarm to the political regulator class from those European minds behind Axios again. Fighting against our economy and defense will not stop a world war from happening.

Contrary to those Euro-conspiracy stories from johnny-come-lately commies and fascists with less than five generations of American heritage, we don’t start the wars against foreign commies and fascists. We only try to survive their expansionism.

And by the way, it’s the no-more-war idiots who have been and are doing what will start a war. They appeal to the murderous despots of bully nations with their garbage Euro-propaganda. They only succeed in trying to make our nation look like wiggling, wounded bait to the monsters who are beating their chests and building up against us overseas.

It's the DC "Deep State" at work. Where do they get these government employees in DC?

You seem to be seeing something between the lines in the article that I’m missing.

Writer states....” according to two sources...who weren’t authorized to discuss the plans with the media, told me”...

But he’s revealed nothing that isn’t already known.

I agree....and always need to be careful about ‘Axios’ articles. They ‘create’ a lot of nothing burgers.

“It’s the DC “Deep State” at work.”

Some leaks are quite deliberate and approved at the highest levels. I don’t know about these leaks, but I don’t see anything in the article that hurts Trump.

If the news that a "Trump administration is planning to launch a major, 'administration-wide,' broadside against China" hasn't been written yet, I'd disagree.

The piece is a call to globalists from their “resistance” in government offices here to try to stop the Trump Administration from carrying out much needed plans. They hope to do so by further influencing the U.S. judicial and legislative against the Trump Administration.

There was no intentional leak about this by the leaders in the Trump Administration. Since they’ve been in office, they’re not verbally trying to start a real war with the Chinese or the Russians.

The closet lefties gave the same message to the Europeans, too. Last night, the BBC said that President Trump may lay tariffs on *all* Chinese products soon. The tone of the BBC was to try to start a larger uprising of world bankers and other most influential constituents to push their politicians overseas to oppose the Trump Administration.

They’re loose cannon. They don’t care that they’re trying to break international alliances in their efforts to push for deposing our elected leaders.

See this satirical joke in re. the Archduke Ferdinand. Maybe it will help with understanding the sick psychology in the propaganda efforts of the global fascists.

We’re not trying to start a shooting war. We’re only trying to survive the next few years economically and defense-wise. China has been using debt schemes to take resources and government influence in several countries. Russia tends more toward media, human migrations and political infiltration.

Again, I don’t see how your argument is at all relevant to the article.

“But he’s revealed nothing that isn’t already known.”

Really? What about this?:

“The White House plans to unveil new information about China’s hostile actions against America’s public and private sectors, and to act on it.

“Administration officials will call out China for its “malign activity” in cyberattacks, election interference and industrial warfare (e.g., intellectual property theft), an administration source told me.

Charges have indeed been made, but few specifics provided. My impression from the article was that we’ll get more specific details about what China has done and are doing. That’s why I found it newsworthy. Obviously you don’t agree. So why don’t you go find something you don’t already know and good luck with that.
