God grew it. I smoke it. That settles it. Don’t like it? Don’t use it.

Huber sounds like a serious hard ass. This is good.

Vandals defacing rocks on national lands should be concerned.

I'm agnostic on pot laws right now.

I live in Washington. Washington and Oregon have both legalized pot. I'm ok with that, but I'm waiting to see how things work out over the next decade.

I do wonder if the uptick in homelessness is somewhat exacerbated by legal pot. For years a lot of homeless have been alcoholics. Now we have two legal substances you can get dependent on and turn your into a lethargic do-nothing.

And I assume that 1(drunk) + 1(stoner) = 3(times more wasted wasteoid)

On the other hand: prohibition didn't work. Weed has been widely available to anyone who wants it my whole life, the illegal nature of it has helped destroy Mexico, just like our prohibition era alcohol trade helped destroy Chicago and other cities in the USA.

In any case, my point in posting this thread was more about "what Huber is (or isn't) doing" than the fact that he seems to be a happy Federal Drug Warrior.

But I get why that's important to some people reading the article.

Huber was NEVER assigned to investigate or prosecute anybody. His only assignment was to do an internal DOJ review on 3 specific questions.

So, unless one is brain dead, huber aint going to be bringing charges against anyone except for the normal crimes committed in his utah district. Period.

“Utah’s top federal law enforcement officer said one “important detail” is being overlooked in the heated debate over medical marijuana in the state.”

It’s not being overlooked you idiot, it’s being flat out ignored. Fedgov is not going to do squat.

It doesn’t sound like it. It sounds like the Grand Jury looking into McCabre is being directed by someone else.

I'm thinking Huber is more likely involved in investigating Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation connections. The NSA Data Center is located in Utah. I'm betting they have it all, every communication involving the Clintons, etc. It just comes down to building the case which with all the corruption at all levels has to be a massive undertaking.

As all the investigations tie together, Huber is likely involved with the other ongoing investigations as well. IMO, the Deep State is in Deep Shit.

We are still not seeing Huber indict anyone for anything in Washington.

Huber was not tasked to indict. He was tasked to investigate and make recommendations to Rosenstein about resources that may or may not be needed.

The memo tasking Huber is almost a year old and it's pretty clear.

I would think that there should be no confusion at this point.

I guess people would rather read attention getting twitter feeds and websites instead of getting the information themselves and thinking for themselves.

Deep State Plotters, who we are supposed to believe Huber is responsible for bringing down, are writing books, appearing on television, going on speaking tours, and generally enjoying life.

Huber does not appear to be the avenger who will bring retribution and justice down on the heads of our enemies.

Stop making sense!

Trust Sessions! Trust The Plan!

I didn’t know if that held true for cyber crimes. If I steal something off a Utah government server rhen why would Alabama local police or even state police or Alabama FBI get involved. Having said that I am ignorant of the law Hence why I asked. It still seems like I stole something from where it was located not where I received it but I’ve always heard the Law really makes no sense.

Unfortunately the advantage the GOP held was squandered. Nothing happened before the election, so the MSM narrative is largely unchallenged. That is some vague whiff of corruption around Trump, enhanced with the 10 guilty pleas by Trump campaign people and capped by his personal attorney pleading guilty, too.

Team Trump has nothing much to counter that narrative with. No hard facts. No indictments.

Dems are likely to win the House, so whatever the DOJ does in the 2019 time frame will be framed with the ouline of "Trump facing impeachment" "Trump under fire from Congressional committee".

It will be epic. 4, 5, 6, 7 who knows how many simultaneous investigations of Trump will be kicked off.

Arrests of Obama admin people before the election would have been a game changer. Totally changed the perception in the popular mind of what is going on. That was a huge missed opportunity that is going to prove to be very costly. Whoever failed (besides Sessions).

Firing Sessions soon after the election will be a relief, but it really will be closing the barn door after the cow escaped. Especially if the evil Team Donkey wins the House. (Or, god forbid the Senate!). (Or, Saints Protect us: BOTH !!!)

If he was tasked to investigate and make recommendations to Rosenweasel we should consider his job useless. Rosenweasel will flush any recommendation that goes anywhere near his swamp buddies right down the commode.

It’s amazing to me, and revealing, the sheer ignorance of The Constitution that many people have. Especially here on FR.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have people here who would make Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids eligible to be President just so their guy can run.
Natural born citizens are naturally citizens because they cannot be anything else.
They have ONE nationality.
That was the entire purpose of the requirement.
Excluding the children of foreign nationals was precisely what the founders were doing when they rejected “native born citizen” and “citizen at birth”.
“Btw—no one sane supports Sessions.”
Sorry, there are a few here on FR to whom Sessions has given his “secret decoder ring!” These few morons “are getting coded messages” from Sessions that he’s some big fearsome MFer who is going to clean out the DOJ. They use crayons because they can’t have any sharp objects.
You seem to be implying that you have your own decoder ring, ie. proof that others are misguided.
Please present your proof to back up your assertions.
I’m not 100% on it. Cyber crimes do have their own rules and jurisdictions can be screwy. For quite awhile, we had issues in US law, iirc. Not long ago it got changed to cover all the weird issues. Like several hops, through different countries, etc. Origination...so I’m just pretty sure, for both ends in the US. Not positive.
Yup. I’ve read the letter to Grassley probably 5 times. It is not vague at all. You are correct. Further, he was only to independently investigate whether a new Special Counsel is justified, after Rosensessions said nope.
(Later on, I believe Sessions authorized Huber to team up with the IG for certain specific issues...memory fuzzy on that)
One point I’d like to see some digging on, by Gregg Jarrett, Sarah, Mollie, Sharyl, etc: The letter specifically states Huber will report his findings straight to Sessions and/or Rosenstein. I’ll put money on he already has done so. Perhaps several updates, or specific findings as he trudges along. Heck, he might be done. There was no provision in the letter anywhere for Huber to show findings to anyone else.
I’d like to see Rosensessions publically called before Congress and asked what Huber has found. If Huber said there is some justification for a new SC, and Rosenstein has been sitting on it, he will be in even more deep doodoo.
