If anything, a broad reading of history strongly suggest that America will NOT react and take action until a comprehensive and existential threat has manifest -— with many thousands of dead. If we’re THAT lucky.

Nope. It’s hopeless and we’re self-blinded into inaction, just like the moment when Chamberlain waved his litte signed paper in the air at the airport.

IF we’re lucky, the situation will still be (barely) save-able at that moment. But by the time we wake up as a nation, it could easily be too late.

(...and that statement itself will offend many.)
