That's why Grassley won't hesitate to string this thing out until Election Day. Ford initially "demanded to be heard," and then immediately hired a team of lawyers that has demanded all kinds of ridiculous conditions for her testimony. That quickly undermined Ford's credibility -- probably beyond repair.
Once she did that, she looks like a total fool if she refuses to testify but then runs to the TV cameras to interviews about her allegations.
Ford, her legal team, and the Democrats were like the dog chasing the car down the road. The Republicans are all inside the car, and Grassley has been slowly depressing the gas pedal in the hopes that the dog will catch up to them.
In this case, the "dog" knows what's happening and just keeps running slower. LOL.
Just got to thinking....wonder if Ford is a member of any frequent flyer programs...?
