Why is time on our side? Because ultimately people have a sense of fairness and this baseless crap will backfire. I hate that people like Flakey and Collins are allowing this to happen. Grassley is trading time for votes, and I believe it will work out for good and that the backlash will be severe when it is over.

It's not a year lost. It might be a week or so, but not a year. As soon as Kavanaugh is confirmed, he joins the Court.
If they don’t want it to look like a trial, then her lawyers should recuse themselves.

The Term is divided between “sittings,” when the Justices hear cases and deliver opinions, and intervening “recesses,” when they consider the business before the Court and write opinions. Sittings and recesses alternate at approximately two-week intervals.
It would be like Kris Bryant or Ronald Acuna sitting out the first couple weeks of the season and then being called up to the big leagues. They didn’t have to sit out the whole year. Kavanaugh can still be SCOTUS Rookie of the Year. :-)

I’m not sure that I have the stomach to watch any more hearings on the Kavanaugh confirmation. We have reached a new altitude of absurdity here.
It’s still so unnecessary, he could already be on the court.
My bigger fear is if they manage to stop him, it will set a devastating precedent. Anyone can lie and stop the nominee.
