Interesting to know how the 1982 statute addresses activity between juveniles less than 2 years apart.
The absence of any subsequent claims or even rumors over the course of his very public life, including 6 FBI background checks should override this flimsy unprovable accusation of juvenile misbehavior.
Some worrying thought about the accuser.
Research psychologists know the risks of invalid data, why present a flimsy claim?
Although she is not a clinical psychologist, she attended and interned in a clinical program, she teaches in universities, she knows about claims there are therapeudic benefits in reporting.
She has to know the literature on witness identification problems and memory.
What has been her access to sexual assault victims and their claims?
If the committee votes Monday, the DA or county attorney will file charges within 24 hours.

In terms of the facts (not that there are any) or even the validity of making such an accusation this surely is insanity.
Unfortunately it is proving to be very effective political gamemanship, in large part because too many so-called Republicans don’t want an ethical constitutional judge seated either.
Look what Feinstein and Ford have accomplished with this little stunt. At the very least they have delayed Kavanaugh’s confirmation by a few weeks. It’s still possible that they have completely derailed it, and even prevented the restoration of a
constitutionally sound Supreme court. Who’s insane here?
PS...I used what I wrote as an exple. I don’t think Kav was guilty. He is innocent until proven guilty and that hasn’t happened...so he’s 100% innocent.
Filing charges would require evidence, something completely lacking in this case. The last time a DA tried to ramrod a prosecution without evidence his name was Nifong and it was in Durham, NC. How did that turn out?

Of course first of all Dr. Ford will have to provide far more specific details about the alleged attempted rape charge vs Brett Kavanaugh than she has provided so far. You can’t just put vague details in a criminal complaint, information provided must be as detailed and specific as possible!
Then she must sign the criminal complaint form, making a SWORN OATH that the information provided on the complaint form IS THE TRUTH -‘UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY!!
However, even if she does this, more than likely noting will come of it. Since the alleged crime occurred in 1982(?) there is likely NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE REMAINING. The only thing law enforcement will have to go on is eyewitness statements and a statement from the accused. Since every person Dr. Ford has mentioned as witnesses have either denied this crime ever took place or have no memory of it, along with Suspect Kavanaugh denying it, they’ll just collect the witness/suspect statements along with the complaint, place them in a file folder and file it away in a file cabinet for cold crime cases were it will remain until it gets archived!

We’re talking about no statute of limitations on sex assault in Maryland, which generally means ‘rape’. I didn’t write anything about this supposed incident.
I want to know how you prove rape before DNA sampling - say 70 years ago.

"Future Crimes" was a sci-fi concept just a few years ago. Where that leads is chilling.
With no SOL, and not voting last Thursday, the GOP has created a situation where charges can be filed against Kavenaugh over the weekend.
Before this is all over they will have charged Kavanaugh with the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey.
THAT is how insane they are.
