She’s running out the clock.

As I posted before, I believe there is an unwritten rule or policy, an understanding among members of Congress that in the 30 days preceding an election, no business is concluded that could sway or influence voters.

The midterm election is Tuesday, November 6, and the 30-day window would start October 6 and end November 5. Given that she is indeed following a plan to run out the clock, I expect she will start traveling by car on Monday and drive slow or for short periods each day so that she will arrive Friday. Once she arrives say the weekend before Monday, October 1, she will likely be assisted by Democrats who may take all week to question her and then there will also be time for Kavanaugh’s response. I expect to see delay and drama unfold in such a manner to allow Democrats to go home for the election to campaign explaining that the matter of Kavanaugh can be taken up when they get back.

The above scenario would put off the confirmation of Kavanaughuntil after the Midterms.

As Q posted in #1825:

Q

I understand that the committee has scheduled a hearing for her on Wednesday. This would leave two days for deliberations and then a vote on Friday but I don’t see that happening as the narrative continues to build that she is a victim who needs to be treated with sensitivity. To me, if the Republicans would just scrap a hearing with her and hold a vote on Kavanaugh, confirm him, I see very little downside to their prospects in the Midterms. Actually, there could be an upside to it. The problem is there are Republican members that are likely in cahoots with Democrats to run out the clock or at least not give an appearance of brutality to female victims of assault and attempted rape.

She will be slow driving across the country and the Republicans will expect her on Wednesday, and she will not be there. They won’t have the courage to scrap a hearing for a poor rape victim who is trying her best to get to Washington to meet with them. Once again, Republicans are stupid. They fell into the trap. Had they stuck to their original deadline, they would likely see poll numbers go up because like any judge in any courtroom, a party that is late to the proceedings without good reason will most likely find the judge has already ruled and disposed of the case.

The above is perhaps too pessimistic. If Grassley scraps her hearing Wednesday because she’s not there, voters will know he gave her several chances and went well beyond necessary to accommodate her testimony.

To get past this utter duplicitous scheming, blatant manipulation, subversion, it will take Trump’s base to keep their passions high and to grab ten others to go with them to rain thunder at the polls.

I forgot to omit certain mentions.

Here is a repost without the forbidden reference:

As posted by a popular focus leader whose branded ‘nom de plume’ shall not be mentioned:
