WASHINGTON—President Trump postponed the declassification and release of sensitive documents related to the investigation into his campaign’s links to Russian election interference, saying the matter would go to the Justice Department’s internal watchdog for further investigation.
In a Friday morning tweet, Mr. Trump said the inspector general of the Justice Department would “review these documents on an expedited basis,” backing away from a previously announced plan to make public a secret surveillance warrant and the text messages of top law-enforcement officials.
“I met with the DOJ concerning the declassification of various UNREDACTED documents. They agreed to release them but stated that so doing may have a perceived negative impact on the Russia probe. Also, key Allies’ called to ask not to release,” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter.
Mr. Trump earlier this week said he had ordered a trove of documents related to the Russia probe to be declassified and publicly released, citing a desire for transparency...
The exact nature of the inspector general’s review, and whether it will be a prelude to a later release, isn’t clear. The inspector general’s office was already looking into some of the materials in question for any possible impropriety.
The material in question included Federal Bureau of Investigation transcripts, text messages and other law-enforcement and intelligence material related to an active investigation that has already ensnared some of the president’s closest advisers...

Heard Gowdy talking about these docs yesterday. He said he’s already seen these docs, and that the docs won’t change anyone’s mind. They aren’t real eye openers except one document that pertains to Papadopoulos.
Maybe that is why Trump is delaying.

Been saying this all morning to people telling me just the opposite. I believe the deep state told Trump flat out they would not release unredacted, complete insubordination. Trump does not have the support to fight this, so he is putting the best face on it he can.
So how come our "key Allies" know what's in top secret FISA docs and in e-mails between key players at the FBI.....enquiring minds seek to know.
If Mueller isn't done in a couple of weeks and whatever crap they may be cooking up in NY isn't squashed, then this cancellation is as bad a move as appointing Sessions.
Looks like the deep state threats are working.

You know, it’s possible that Trump got a result he was looking for just from announcing the release. We have no idea of the wrangling that’s going on that we’ll never know about.
The information needs to be out before Nov elections! the media has to stop feeding lies to the public!
