Anyone got copies of the yearbooks from Punahoe in Hawaii?
I have a good friend from college who was in Obama's class at Punahoe. She told me he was known widely in the school because Obama played basketball, and there also were not a lot of black kids back at that time. He was the quintessential stoner. The "choom gang" was all true. If you wanted to buy weed, you would seek out Obama, or more likely 2 of the white-boy, hippie/stoners he would hang with. She didn't know him as a great intellect - he didn't speak up or contribute in class. She didn't know what kind of grades he got, but assumed they were average.
