The war has already begun (probably started when Obama was first elected). The Radical Left/Marxists/Post-Modernists have come into the open. We can see who they are and they tell us what they want, which is a completely new constitution and country which reflects THEIR principles.
As Clausewitz said (I paraphrase), "war is politics by other means." If you listen to the exhortations of Maxine Waters, you can hear the "other means" being planned by the Left. We have already seen the "other means" in the actions of Antifa.

Now, it’s easy to be a keyboard warrior - and I’m hardly hypocritical enough to claim I’m going to march on Washington when I can barely muster up enough incentive to drive down to the supermarket . . . but at the same time, intellectually, I feel like we’re all living on a powder keg. Granted, most of this is caused by the media, who’s been feeding this discord all along, but it’s impossible to deny there IS real discord in this country, and two distinct camps who literally HATE everything about people on the other side. And I’m part of that, too - I HATE these liberal rear-holes. I hate that they hate our country. I hate that they’re standing in our way. I hate that they’re perverted and stupid and want EVERYONE to be the useless vermin that they are. I see nothing good about any of them OR their party or their beliefs and I think they’re doing immeasurable damage to our country AND that it’s gotten far worse in the last two years than it’s ever been before. Are they simply going to stop “resisting”? No, they’re not. So where else can this lead? If they’re going this nuts about Kavanaugh, what insane level are they going to power up to when Ruth Ginsburg drops dead and Trump gets ANOTHER Supreme Court pick? What are they going to do if / when they lose the midterms? And THEN how much more insane are they going to get if / when Trump wins another term in two years? They’re already on the cusp of violence and I can’t see any of these things NOT pushing them over the line. Hell, we even had that fat piece of shit Algore claiming Trump’s Presidency should just be aborted because he sucks so much! WHAT?! We have leftists openly calling for rebellion - and not some dirty hippie-wannabe but members of the previous administration. This is vile. It’s got to stop somehow. Trump MAKING it stop by firing and arresting a bunch of these people would be a good start - they need to be shown they can’t get away with their tantrums or, like little children, they’re going to keep having them.

The cultural marxists that you speak of got their start at the beginning of the 20th centuty when the “Progressive” movement began in earnest, inspired by Marxist principles. It went on nitrous oxide overboost with the election of Obama. He was allowed to assume office, with nary a whimper from so called “constitutional conservatives.” It could be safely said this portent signaled the potential death knell of the constitutional republic.
Whatever else Obama may be, He most certainly is NOT an Article II, Section 1, clause 5 natural born citizen, and he blatantly told us so when he admitted that he was born a citizen of Great Britain and Kenya. He knew no one in a position of consequence would dare to oppose him, lest they be accused of nativist racist beliefs, the restrictions of the constitution be damned.
Their timing was perfect. He was allowed to get away with it for TWO terms.
Now, Kamala Harris is waiting in the wings for HER curtain call....
I'd push the time back to immediately post-Reagan. Just as Woodstock was the capstone of the 1960s, the late 1980s was the birth of globalism. The seemless policies of two Bushes, Clinton and Obama have us where we are today.
IMHO, it started way before obama. But, I think they thought obama would be able to push it over the edge. They didn’t realize there’d be as much resistance as there was. It may not seem like it, especially with how much loathing we all have for the guy, but he wasn’t able to do as much as he could have done. The GOP caved on a lot of stuff and he got o’care through. But, he had 8 years to completely destroy the place and couldn’t pull it off.
Since he didn’t pull it off and now things seem to be going in the opposite direction, they’re getting insane. And I say, good. Let them get as insane as they can and want to be. The crazier pelosi, harris, and the rest talk and act, the better.
I am thankful for stupid leftists like Maxine Waters who telegraph the moves and intent of the Leftists and Deep State.
