Magistrate Courts are a fine little business which basically run on fines. Traffic citations are, by far, the biggest revenue producers.

Several months ago, I actually challenged one there because the local Barney Fife claimed I ran a stop sign. From his vantage point, he couldn't even see me stop 30 feet or so BEHIND the sign as most people do.

I had one of those Drivewise devices which actually tracks every trip and proved I stopped within the same minute of the traffic citation. I went online, picked the trip and printed it out for the judge. The local Barney Fife was more ticked off about having to come in from passing out citations at his hiding place than in losing the citation.

I now make it a point to stop 30 feet or so in FRONT of the sign so the little junior highwayman pretending to be a highway patrolman can see me from his hiding place.
