This one was always about the surge and rain induced flooding. She tried to get too big, causing her to suck in dry air, just as others have in the past. There is nothing in my 40+ years of monitoring hurricanes that I can say is unusual or unexplained in this one. Had the winds remained up, the flooding would have been even worse.
