The missiles, suspected to be Israeli, destroyed an arms warehouse near the Damascus International Airport, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP. He had no immediate information on casualties.
Israel has vowed to prevent Iran, which is a main backer of Syrias government, from gaining a foothold in neighbouring war-torn Syria.
Earlier this month, Israel acknowledged having carried out more than 200 strikes in Syria over the past 18 months, mainly against Iranian targets.
It has also admitted to striking Syria to prevent what it says are deliveries of advanced weaponry to Lebanons Hezbollah, an armed movement backed by Iran which fights alongside Syrian troops.
The last reported Israeli strikes on Syria took place on 4 September, when Syrian state media said the militarys air defences downed several missiles in the coastal province of Tartus and in central Hama.

The Guardian & Syrian state media as the source of this article????
Common guys, we can do better than this.
Why not post the TRUTH about the lies? You don't have to use the liar as the source to post a headline that alerts readers to a published lie. Use yourself as the source or a reasonably reliable source that addresses what the Lying Leftist source is saying. That way you have a headline and a source that your readers can reasonably rely on and they go away more informed about the lie AND the truth.
Please do.
In fact, I really must insist on it.
Find a news article with the truth about this same event and post it in this thread.
If were told a lie, dont repeat it. Neutralize the lie by speaking the truth. Lies arent defeated by repeating the lie. Lies are defeated by repeating the truth. We should have our eyes on the prize - in this case, politically, what it takes to recover our Free Constitutional Republic. That should be what we major on and focus on.
There's too much Leftist "scoop" mentality here on FR to be the first one to post a story regardless of the source. Again, IMO, that is missing the point and mission of FR.
You’re heart seems to be in the right place, and you are to commended for your support of conservative news outlets.
But there are other article out there on this same incident. One being the Wall Street Journal. They all say the same thing.
I’d say, then, either wait until you find an external reasonably reliable source, or use yourself as the source and deconstruct the article with you as the reasonably reliable source.
Jim, BenLurkin is doing a good job of providing information to us.
Please point out anything that is factually incorrect in his article, or please consider backing off.
We need people to post articles here, and attacking them is a piss poor way of saying thanks.
BenLurkin, carry on...
...and thanks.
yes, most of the UK media is controlled or acts like it
yes, Syrian State Media is obviously not reliable
I get all that. OK.
so, anyways............just
what is a ‘reasonably reliable source” nowadays?
(just curious, not picking any fights!)
the main street media (including almost all of it) is a pack of lies
anyone who posts from a blog is flamed
....
DoughtyOne, the point here is “reliability.” How does anyone know how accurate and reliable this information is, coming from the Guardian which is using Syrian news as its source? All we know now is known liars are accusing Israel of something. What else is new?
Using lying Leftist sources like the Guardian defeats our purpose here at FR IMO. As I told BL, there’s too much Leftist “scoop” mentality here on FR to be the first one to post a story regardless of the source. Again, IMO, that is missing the point and mission of FR.
sounds legit to me
