Ari Fuld, a U.S.-born activist who was popular in the local community and an outspoken Israel advocate on social media platforms.

The military said the attacker arrived at the mall near a major junction in the southern West Bank, close to the Gush Etzion settlement bloc, and stabbed the Fuld before fleeing. Video footage showed Fuld giving chase and firing at his assailant before collapsing. Other civilians shot the attacker, whom Israeli media identified as a 17-year-old from a nearby Palestinian village. His condition was unclear.

“Ari Fuld, a U.S.-born activist who was popular in the local community and an outspoken Israel advocate on social media platforms.”

You missed the first part of the sentence ...

‘The victim was identified as ‘

Did he think that the Palestinians would be friendly?

To me, it looks like he was targeted for death. But that is pure speculation on my part.

My family lived in this neighborhood for a year. The shopping center where this occurred is used by both Arabs and Jews — the grocery store where the victim had just gone shopping is owned by a Jew but employs many Arabs, and most of the time everyone gets along. But most of the time is not all of the time.

The Arab who did this was shot but not killed. He is being treated, with the same standards of medical care as is afforded to every other patient, at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. The Arab, and his family, will be pensioned for the rest of his life by the Palestinian Authority, to the tune of thousands of dollars a month — a fortune in that part of the world.

Until very recently (and perhaps still, to some extent) that pension was paid for by our tax dollars. But the Trump administration has done more in the last year and a half to stop that funding than every other administration in history, of either party.
